AND IN ADDITION TO ALL THIS, THE REASON THE SPEED OF LIGHT IS NOT CONSTANT, IS BECAUSE LIGHT DOES NOT EVEN TRAVEL! ENERGY TRAVELS!
Energy moves outward from its source like a wave. Energized molecules colliding with each other and transferring energy from one molecule to another. With each collision the energized molecule gives up its energy to the next molecule until all energy is depleted. As this process take place, each fase of collision gets weaker and slower.
So where does light come from? Energy. Therefore light works in the same manner that energy does. What is being measured as the speed of light is not energy, but a laser "beam" of light being reflected against mirrors and timed.
Not only is there not a constant speed of light, there is NO speed of light.

WHAT THE BlOODY FUCKING HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT?
YOU'RE NOT A ASTRO-PHYSICIST
YOU'RE NOT A QUANTUM PHYSICIST
YOU'RE NOT EVEN A FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE

Light is energy (electromagnetic). YOU FAIL.

So where does light come from? Energy.
And photon streams.
Therefore light works in the same manner that energy does. What is being measured as the speed of light is not energy,
YOU FAIL AGAIN.

STOP THE STUPID!
Actually the speed of light is not "constant". He is right in that. When travelling through different substances such as water or glass, the speed of light drops. However the maximum speed of light in a vacuum is indeed a constant.
However the rest of it is just failure on epic scales.
Congratulations, you've roughly described how heat works.
Now go for light . You know, the stuff you see with. Hint: you'll need to use at least once the word "photon".
As mentioned, light IS energy, dickwad. Anyone who has gone as far as A Level Physics, and even before that, would be able to pick out the fail in every sentence of that post.
The vast majority of high school physics students would know more about light than this guy, at least by the time they graduate.
I'm not exactly seeing how it's fundie, though, unless this is supposed to be some justification of how the stars could be seen on whatever day Genesis says they were created.
@Jason
Actually, he is pretty much fundie. The guy is an ardent YEC and does mention his religious views quite a lot on his Myspace page.
Also, I'm not entirely sure if Ken really is Dad, or just somebody who happens to be just as bad at science as Dad is.
Wrong, fucktard. Light, like every electromagnetic wave, consists of quanta of energy called photons. They are massless point particles that always travel at the (constant) speed c.
Lasers exploit a quantum mechanical effect called stimulated emission, which causes the excited atoms to emit identical photons that are in phase. The laser beam is a stream of these photons, so it is still light, and these photons always travel with a speed c.
Now do a lot of reading about physics or get the fuck off the internet.
@FMG
The speed of photons is constant, but when considering electromagnetic waves in media, the speed appears to slow down due to the photons being absorbed by atoms and emitted when the electron decays.
"As this process take place, each fase of collision gets weaker and slower."
This is NOT the Discworld!
Next week, Ken will be back to make up another load of bollocks about magnetism.
I can't wait until he tackles scalar energy.
So...how does light travel through the vacuum of space? What exactly is it colliding with?
Man, this guy sounds like he learned science from watching episodes of the Super Friends. There wasn't anything they couldn't solve by vibrating molecules fast enough.
Holy shit ken, you've dropped an atomic horseshit bomb this time. Then again, with your says I don't think our atomic horseshit bomb would work.... Damn it ken! Now there's nothing to say that would make any sense, unless of course, nonsense makes sense.
"THE SPEED OF LIGHT IS NOT CONSTANT"
-Thank you for your inadvertant acknowledgement that light comes to nearly a stop within Bose-Einstein Condensates.
"BECAUSE LIGHT DOES NOT EVEN TRAVEL! ENERGY TRAVELS!"
"Therefore light works in the same manner that energy does."
-Thanks for contradicting yourself.
I strongly recomend taking a high school completion course at your nearest community college and taking Physics 105 as soon as you can, you'll learn a lot about why shit does stuff.
Ah, you read a kiddy-grade physics book. Gooooooood for you.
Now please at least to high-school level physics before saying more.
Dude, it's not because you use words like "molecules", "energized" that you qualify as a scientist...
BTW, you mis-spelled "phase"
as a physicist I take deep offense at your pretense of knowledge and your ability, no doubt honed in your torturous interpretations of your Bable, to misunderstand the most basic physics.
Please review; Maxwell's Equations , what a boson is, and "how does energy move" ? Through the ether! You say it moves ONLY by the transfer of kinetic energy between particles with mass. How does light get from the sun, through the vacuum of space to earth.
Such stupidity hurts my head.
fundamentalists delenda est
And light, what do you think it is IF IT'S NOT ENERGY?. A dog, a camel or a kitten?. And travel is a totally human phenomenon, but not moving or any idea of deplacement.
Physics aside, he isn't even internally consistent.
If "light works in the same manner energy does", and "Energy travels", then how is it that "Light does not even travel"?
If light does not travel, how does it reflect off mirrors, and how can it be timed? If it didn't travel, wouldn't it be everywhere it is observed simultaneously?
It's a smorgasbord of non-sequiturs and internal contradictions even before you crack a physics textbook.
Jesus fucking Christ (yes, fucking was his middle name actually), have you any idea what you're talking about!? Light is by definition energy. You were rather accurate on you description in the first part of your post, but then completely disreagard it in the latter for noi reason at all. Yes, light is energy and energy is transferred between molocules and what not (atoms really, if not at a sub-atomic level) at, believe it or not, a fixed rate. Ergo the speed of light (or transference of energy between particles) is constant in optimum conditions (a vacuum).
Fail physics much?
Idiot.
Confused?
