(Why do some people act so angry with the Gospel?)
The question could also be asked why a bank robber gets upset with the police?...Its because they are in the wrong and don't want to be held accountible for what they have done...In keeping it simple some people get angry, and offended at just the mention of God, its because deep down whether they understand it or not they get convicted of there sins...I have noticed when a sinner is heavily convicted they either rebell, or repent..Sadly many choose to rebell.

...banks and police commissioners don't exist? What? Maybe the analogy you were looking for was "Why would a citizen of Airstrip One not like Big Brother?"
I have no problem with the historical Jesus, and the message of 'love thy neighbor as ye would love thyself', and the message of help, but his fan club members, like you, who are more infatuated with the idea of dying, you don't fucking LIVE. That is why people get angry at your suicidal blatherings.
"they either rebell, or repent"
So... people either listen, or they don't. Whatever, d00d.
'In keeping it simple some people get angry, and offended at just the mention of God'
No, shithead, people get angry at being preached to by assholes like Tim LaHaye (founder of your favorite horseshit fundy website, RR).
I find this thought pattern nauseating. They will dance around, shaming people, cramming tracts and bible verses down their throats, and when someone finally tells them to bugger off, it's not that they're tired of your sanctimonious self-righeousness...it's that they hate Jesus, and the Bible, and the cross, and America, and...
"I have noticed when a sinner is heavily convicted they either rebell [sic], or repent."
I mean, we're all sinners, you know? Original sin, and all that stuff? Everyone's in the same boat, you know, we're all in this together.
But those guys, those atheist guys? Yeah, they're the really bad sinners, you know, like all child molesters and serial killers, you know, not people like us, wouldn't hurt a fly, you know?
Why do I get angry with the Gospel? Because I don't like being told I am inferior because I am a woman. I don't like the lies that get told to children causing them to be ashamed about something that is only natural. I don't like the power the church holds. I don't like the intructions to convert/kill people who do not agree with the Gospel. I don't like the way it teaches people not to question authority. I don't like the way that religion is forced onto children before they have a chance to make up their own mind. I feel angry that people who can't afford it, give money to the church and leave their children to go hungry. I feel angry that people waste their lives on something that isn't true.
How would you react if people were telling you that you have to convert to Hinduism, that everything you believe is wrong, and that only they know what is true? Probably not favorably. Why? Because it reeks of hubris and arrogance, and it is annoying to have them assume that you are so feeble and ignorant in your worldview that you would be willing to forfeit everything you believe in an instant after being taught the basic doctrine of a major world religion. It is insulting, imposing, and wrong.
But, of course, that couldn't possibly be the answer...we're just afraid of the TROOOF.
Well said, Natasha .
This one clearly has some intermediate indoctrination under his belt. You will note the full spread ... guilt trip, shame tactics, paranoia, confusion ... driving his point.
Which isn't even a point. No, this sort of condescending batfuckery doesn't play well at all.
Find yourself another hobby, Citizen.
Confused?
