[On Wal-mart's new line of Biblical action figures...]
As long as the toys are made and marketed with respect towards GOD then I think these toys will be a great way to share the word of God with our children. I do not like the idea of these toys sharing actual shelf space with things like Barbie’s and comic book action figures. They should be given their own section of the toy department so their message is not polluted with the sinful nature of most of today’s toys.

The Barbies and action figures are sinful? What? They engage in orgies at night after the store is closed?
Anyway, if such is the case, then the biblical dolls should definitely be placed on the same shelves - so they can either convince those wicked, sinful dolls to see the error of their ways or get in on the after-hours action. Just saying.

One of my great joys in life is rearranging the toys on the shelves. Imagine the things I could do if there was a Jesus doll at my Wal-Mart and I had access to a Barbie and a Skeletor... Oh, and a new Optimus Prime, and G. I. Joe...
The displays I could set up...
Hey, I think there should be Bible action figures in stores too. All the other works of fiction get 'em.
Yes. Their own section.
Where no one will go.
Anyone recall the "Heroes of the Kingdom" action figures, which came out at the same time as He-Man? I didn't think so.
Then there was the Baby Jesus doll that came out over 40 years ago - "The Most Wonderful Story" - the manufacturer ended up recalling them all...
Watching this one like a hawk, for something funnier than AWP 's Jesus Rocket Fist GGGGOOOOO!!!!!
So far, haven't seen it. :D
I'm in favor of chocolate baby Jesuses for Xmas...and chocolate crucifixes at Easter.
Wonder what the fundies would choose to complain about: baby Jebus being eaten, or him being suspiciously brown-skinned? (remember the stink they raised a few months back about a loincloth-less chocolate Jeebus sculpture?)
Also, your suggestion reminded me of this strip ^^

"I do not like the idea of these toys sharing actual shelf space .."
Either this dope wants segregated shelf space or wants imaginary shelf space not ACTUAL.
I think RR needs their own toy store so they won't annoy the rest of us.
@Adrian, funny cartoon!
Well, there's milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate...
That statue concept was rad, dude. Like Madonna, a perfect example of controversy as an art form.
@Old Viking:
Shit, that's nothing. We were so poor, if I didn't wake up with wood Christmas morning, I'd have nothing to play with.
They can't take away my chocolate easter bunny.
Bunny: Pagan symbol of fertility - what are bunnies known for?
Chocolate: Causes a chemical reaction in the brain that is akin to love - actually, if it's reeeeally good chocolate, it's closer to a little oral orgasm. WHEE!
Pagans: IN UR XTIANITY, STEELIN UR HOLIDAZE BACK!
Will the set include Lot and his daughters, John the Baptist with removable head and Dressable David and Jonathan (2 Sam. 1:26 - David: "thy [Jonathan's]love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women" )?
Toys are sinful? Um... how, exactly? Personally, I think the action figures are incredibly tacky, but meh, buy 'em if you want.
They'll probably put them up with all the educational, novelty action figures. This line of action figures already includes Beethoven, Leonardo DaVince, Picasso, Mary Antoinette, Sigmund Freud, etc. They're actually pretty interesting and humorous.
Grrrr, still no edit function.
And the button marked 'Order Jesus' might be considered a bit blasphemous too.
I agree, I don't want those toys sharing shelf space with useful and interesting toys like Barbie. I'd like to see them put far far away from the other toys, preferably in a separate clearly labeled building so I don't find them by accident.
@Shelly
I was thinking of something along the lines of a “Go-Go Gadget Crucifix” but I think Inspector Gadget was a lot cooler than most religious icons.
I'm glad I saw this early in the morning, so no one else was in the office to hear me laughing...
Of course, now I'm picturing a Transformers Ark of the Covenant...
Holy crap, PTK has crossed over from the world of "Moral Orel."
In related news, Stormshadow > Kung-Fu Jesus. [/80s_Child]
"They should be given their own section of the toy department so their message is not polluted with the sinful nature of most of today’s toys. "
Or vice-versa, so that the superhero toys aren't infected by all the incestuousness, genocide, intolerance, and redical patriarchy.....
Confused?
