The "NEW" phenomenon? A thirteen year old cartoon and an 85 year old company are a new phenomenon. Right. This movie really stuck in your craw, didn't it? Hey, did you know they did a movie about the Aztecs too? You can practically smell the pagan idoltory in that one!
How little faith can these people have if they feel threatned by a movie?
Osiris, if they really had faith, they wouldn't be fundie. They'd be able to accept reality without trying to warp it to fit their myths. They wouldn't feel threatened by a children's cartoon .
That's because baboon witch doctors are awesome . Not so much because they are witch doctors, but because they are baboons, and therefore monkeys (actually, apes, but close enough), and thus, awesome .
And where, pray tell, in the movie does it promote worship of a "sun god?" The lions in the movie don't worship anything, they just adhere to the Circle of Life. Oh, wait, that must be it! Those lions are filthy atheists! How dare Disney market this garbage for our children! The shame! Simba doesn't pray to God for help, he recieves a vision of his dead father in the night sky instead! So the baboon must be a necromancer! In fact, his wild, crazy shrieks of laughter clearly indicate his savage, pagan roots! It all makes sense now!
