Jesus was the only meaningful death in history. All others were not neccessary if Adam had not been stupid.

It might feel that way to you but, for many, Jesus' death means nothing.
Humans die for many perfectly understandable reasons, none of which needs to invoke original sin.
I thought it was Eve that fucked up.
The only stupid one is you Rebecca, get your head out of your ass.
Actually...goddidit!
You freaks say your god is omnipotent & omnisceint, right? Meaning he is ALL knowing & ALL powerful. So, he made the tree, the made A&E KNOWING what would happen. So, god caused original sin.
Uh...by your theology, if Adam hadn't been stupid, Jesus wouldn't have had to die, ergo ALL deaths were unnecessary.
"Jesus was the only meaningful death in history."
Jesus isn't dead though, according to your mythology. It kind of defeats the whole "only meaningful death" thing if you get the fuck back up after a short nap.
At best he was inconvenienced.
"All others were not neccessary if Adam had not been stupid."
Trying for the Bible Scholar of the Year award are ya?
Rebecca, think about it, seriously: what would this planet look like if everybody who had ever lived was still living?? How would that work? A: It wouldn't.
Adam did us a favour (assuming that the story is true, just for the sake of arguement here).
Exactly why would the "death" of Jesus redeem the sinners of the world?
Exactly why would the "sin" of one person, eons ago, in any way effect modern persons?
>>"Jesus was the only meaningful death in history."
Oh, SNAP. Way to insult all the other people that humanity has ever looked up to or considered important, not to mention the deaths of any who have given their lives for another (soldiers come to mind).
>>"All others were not necessary if Adam had not been stupid."
So, because one guy screwed up somewhere, the rest of us have to get punished for it? God sounds like the suckiest boss ever.
So whether Adam was stupid or not, Jesus still had to die? If Adam had not been stupid, maybe there would still have ben just two people and a paradise filled with animals. Go Adam! Oh, and he was curious and inquisitive, not stupid. Or rather Eve was, and Adam tagged along.
If Adam and Eve and their progeny and the several generations that followed hadn't ever died, there would have been no Jesus and no Rebecca1023 or any of us living now for the simple reason that there wouldn't have been even standing room for new people after the world filled up. Never thought of that, did you, you stupid, stupid little girl.
I'm too frustrated to deal with this with words.
*chu-chuck* BLAM *chu-chuck* BLAM *chu-chuck* BLAM *chu-chuck* BLAM.
If a horse breaks its leg, you shoot it. If a human breaks its brain...
Because clearly, the story of Adam and Eve couldn't possibly have been a creation myth with elements in common with the creation myths of other cultures.
It's like the story of how the coyote got the black circles around its eyes: an attempt to tell a memorable yarn about how a feature of the storyteller's world came to be.
Meh... if you read the Bible it does actually say that word for word. In Romans, I believe that's the book (though it's said a few times), it says that death was not necessary. God designed human beings to live forever, and only brought death into the picture as a punishment after Adam and Eve disobeyed him. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross undid their sin, so his death was "meaningful." All others were not intended; we were meant to live forever. And if you believe in Jesus, you will live forever in heaven, so says the Bible.
I'm not Christian, by the way, I just like to study Christianity. But that is what the theory behind this statement is. It's not a stupid fundie thing, it IS technically true in Christian theology.
Wait, if EVE didn't fuck up, then there is no original sin. If there is no original sin, then Jesus need to die. Therefore, by your own logic, Jesus's death means nothing.
"Jesus was the only meaningful death in history"
Gotta question for ya Rececca....are you saying all those witches, joan of Ark, heretics, etc, burned and hanged by xians were not meaningful? How about those hanged at the Salem witch trials here in America? Were those hangings (by xians) meaningful? Think about the meanings of those deaths.....
Actually, all the others (hell, including Jesus's) were not necessary if God had not been so stupid. He could have defeated Satan once and for all when Satan rebelled in heaven. But, God prefers to play this little game with him at the cost of billions of souls. What a jackass.
You're bloody lucky there's no such thing as an afterlife. If there were, and its deceased denizens saw the arrogant, belittling vileness you wrote here, the collective force of every other human being ever to have striven and perished indignantly shouting "fuck you," even from another plane of existence, would probably obliterate you down to your last molecule.
*Blink, Blink*
A fundie admitting that Adam dropped the ball, and it wasn't just evil evil Eve?!
*GigaGuess collapses from shock.*
God says "You kids have been stealing apples. So now you gotta die, you and all your kids. But tell you what- you kill my son for me, and we'll call it all square."
I know it sounds like abysmally dumb, but that's just because we're too unenlightened to accept how clever this divine plan really is.
Confused?
