I’ve got the solution to all this. I’ve got the solution to most crime in America. From this day forward, somebody propose it, liberals should not be allowed to buy guns. It’s just that simple. Liberals should have their speech controlled and not be allowed to buy guns. I mean if we want to get serious about this, if we want to face this head on, we’re gonna have to openly admit, liberals should not be allowed to buy guns, nor should they be allowed to use computer keyboards or typewriters, word processors or e-mails, and they should have their speech controlled. If we did those three or four things, I can’t tell you what a sane, calm, civil, fun-loving society we would have. Take guns out of the possession, out of the hands of liberals, take their typewriters and their keyboards away from ‘em, don’t let ‘em anywhere near a gun, and control their speech. You would wipe out 90% of the crime, 85 to 95% of the hate, and a hundred percent of the lies from society.

Um, isn't it liberals who usually are in favor of gun control?

I know Rush is probably not being totally serious, but isn't it ironic for someone who makes their living by expressing themselves to advocate removing freedom of expression from others? I guess as long as it's for those evil liberals not not the good, righteous, God-fearing conservatives, it's OK.

But also funny how conservatives consider themselves the protectors of the 2nd Amendment, but here's one who wants to strip that right from certain people. Hey Rush, ever consider that if people don't like guns they're not going to own one? Usually anyone who owns a gun is a supporter of the 2nd Amendment.

And while we're at it we can isolate them from the rest of the population so that conservative dogmata is never again criticized. Why we can put them in some sort of camp...-like structure to ummm...concentrate them into a single place. And we all know how well censorship of an idea works. About 2000 years ago some Jew was causing trouble for the Romans so they killed him and they killed many of his followers and boy did they ever nip THAT one in the bud. Who knows, if they hadn't done that it might have become a religion or something.

Rush...you are claiming that political views you disagree with are the cause of all society's ills, and banning them would solve all of America's problems. You really don't see the flaw in this? Then let me spell it out for you.

1. What if liberals really aren't the cause of all America's problems? Then your solution not only wouldn't solve anything, it would create more problems to boot.

2. What if the liberals don't just take it lying down? You've got civil unrest that could easily lead to civil war.

3. What if the government decides YOUR views are a problem? They censored one group, they can censor another. Limited freedom of speech is the same thing as no freedom of speech.

So no, your society would definitely not be a "sane, calm, civil, fun-loving society." The moment you start proposing "solutions" like that, you throw sane, calm, civil and fun-loving out the window.

But no, I do not want you to be censored. I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it. Besides, laying your arguments bare makes it that much easier to rip them to shreds.

In the hyper-litigious society that is the USA (Four Words: No win, no fee), you'd think that, at the beginning of his programmes, there'd be the notice: 'The following broadcast is purely for entertainment. Rush Limbaugh does not mean what he says'* (it wouldn't surprise me if the radio stations who relay such programmes have the pre-broadcast legal waiver 'Radio WXYZ [or whatever] take no responsibility for the following statements made by Rush Limbaugh', or 'The opinions stated on "The Rush Limbaugh Show", either by Rush or his callers do not reflect those of the owners/managers of Radio WXYZ'), lest someone take said station to court for Limburger's inflammatory speech.

All it'd take is just one instance to set the precedent, and open the legal floodgates. Then not even citing the 1st Amendment would save your programme, Rush, as the advertisers/sponsors at/of said radio staions told them to drop Rush's programme - or else.

Then I think you'll find, Rush, that Mammon is superior to God. It's certainly superior to the US Constitution, as far as you're concerned!

What would be left, then? TV? You've already had your wrist smacked previously. And their advertisters/sponsors are far less forgiving than the radio stations. Certainly less tolerant of incendiary 'opinions'.

Ah, but then, unlike the US with it's 1st Amendment, you wouldn't dare do the same over here in the UK eh, Rushiepoos? Specifically on UK TV. Because OFCOM would (and they do have the legal teeth to) force you to be simultaneously Left- and Right-wing, eh?!

Fear ye not, good peeps of the USA - as with Fred Phelps & co, Rush will get his, one day as he ups the verbal ante to 'play up to his audience', he'll step over that line; literally a case of 'condemning himself out of his own mouth'. Even rights can be abused, then - via the law that allows you those rights - you'll forfeit such. One Word, Rushiepoos: Hubris.

Actually setting forth to provide consistent, socially-moral, and logically-reasoned reasons for laws to be established? Finally? I knew you had it in you, Rush!

Of course, I expected too much from you. What sense is it to forbid a specific group from getting something that you believe they wouldn't even attempt to acquire to begin with?

And now you attempt to go against the very principles of America. Not to mention that if someone who exhibits willful ignorance and propogates bigotry and hatred that INSPIRES and SPAWNS insanity, violence, savagery, oppression, and up-tightness within society is allowed to speak FREELY, why should those doing the polar opposite be forbidden?

Most crime originates outside of Political position; that which does tends to be 'Conservative'. Also you yourself are propogating hatred with this very 'solution', which demonstrates that you are lying with full knowledge that you are lying. And that nullifies your last point even without bringing up how you blatantly and wilfully ignore the use of UNBIASED EVIDENCE and REALITY to analyze your claims and beliefs; you show that you can't go a paragraph without purposefully positing several severe and absolutely pathetic falsehoods and additionally demonstrate the terribly deep love you have for lying.

And, additionally, it's nice that you can't keep track of your own points. Type-writers are also pretty out-of-style, word processors are even older, and emails RELY OF KEYBOARDS.

Post-early November last year, even the Repubicans' have turned against their main Propaganda Machine and Cheerleader-in-Chief; Faux News and Rush Limburger, respectively.

Both considered by the mainstream party as much of the source of their last, best hope against Obama, Golden Boy Mitt 'Magic Pants' Romney's FAIL & current woes to this day. Both - but the Nazi Gasbag in particular - previously seen as the 'Heart & Soul' of their core electorate. And that in itself was the problem. All boiling down to that one word:

Demographics.

Before, both - but Rush in particular effectively influenced GOP policy, and thus seen by the Repubicans as vital for their electoral survival. That was before early November last year. Since then, Rush, by most of the now diverse - and thus diffused - electorate, was/is seen as socio-politically irrelevant.

Now he and Faux News should die of it.
