God must have erased the evidence of the Flood, so the only place we could find out about it is in the Bible.

If that is true, then essentially God tries to fool us and then damns those who fall for it. Some "mercy", "kindness", "love", and "justice" that is.
Except it's not trickery, because god can define trickery!
Trickery- An attempt to mislead, which causes negative consequences as a result, EXCEPT in the case of covering up all physical evidence of the Bible's events, and planting evidence of a false history.
Ex: God's coverup of the creation story is not trickery because he said so!
Guess that's just god fuckin' wit' us!
Some comic said that before me, can't for the life of me remember who.
Anyway Sky, you're an airhead.
How come he erased only Bible proofs and left Egyptian, Myan, Aztec, Inca, Babylonian and a few others? Hell they've even found Troy!
A bit like God erased evidence of the creation, garden of Eden, fall of Jericho, ascension of Elijah into heaven, birth of Jesus, raising of Lazarus, feeding of the 5000, ascension of Jesus to heaven and every other supernatural or miraculous event, so that the only evidence of them is in the bible too!
So we end up with a world that looks exactly like it operates (and has always operated) through a set of basic physical laws and without divine intervention.
Cool, if that's what god wants me to believe, I'm down wid it!
Sounds like your usual conspiracy-theory idiocy: there is no evidence, so it must have happened, because any evidence I would need to prove my point was destroyed. Only the most closed-minded people out there don't see the world my way. Is this why so many of these nuts also fall for the Illuminati-New World Order crap?
Why the fuck would God do this to us? What could possibly be the point of this?
If people fail to see through this "trick" then he sends them to hell for it. What kind of loving god sets his people up for failure so spectacularly, and then punishes them so severely for failing?
This is only one more reason I think your god is an asshole.
He must have erased all evidence of Jesus' life too... plus all the written evidence (save the Bible) and all evidence of this erasure, and so on and so forth.
You see, not a single contemporary chronicler (and Jerusalem was positively swarming with them) mentions anything close to, say, graves bursting open when Jesus died [Matthew 27:52]. Your God is much, much more of a deceiver than you think.
Yeah, right. Along with the four legged insects and the talking snakes.
You know, if you have to resort to believing rubbish like that you should be starting to wonder if maybe, just maybe, this whole god thing might not be a complete sham after all.
"God must have erased the evidence of the Flood, so the only place we could find out about it is in the Bible."
And you lot wonder why Atheism & Secularism is on the rise...?!
So then if a lack of proof is proof, then perhaps he shouldn't have even mentioned it in the Bible. I mean then, with no evidence whatsoever, that MUST confirm it as undeniable proof, right?
Good lord, I hope you never make it onto a jury...
So, after the Flood, God erased all evidence of it? Okay, cool. But then he had to create Chinese and Egyptian cultures and their written records extending through the period of the Flood.
And in multiple written languages even though this would have been before the Tower of Babel. And weirdly, AFTER the Tower, the Egyptians settled in the land where the existing written records were in the Egyptian language they were speaking. And the Chinese found written records in their language… And so on, and so on, all over the world.
Otherwise, there would be evidence of the tower of Babel if every culture with writing suddenly changed languages because of the confounding.
Seems like a lot of work to avoid evidence that he did anything….
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
