I'm 51, and maybe 20 to 30 lbs overweight and I quit smoking a little over 6 months ago. I have no health insurance because I'm out of work. I do not plan on getting health insurance. If I get sick, I will rely on God to get me through it (or not). It's Jesus living in me and if he says it's time then it's time. I will not participate in this insanity that is government run health care!

Well, damn, why quit smoking? Why worry about being overweight? It's all in God's hands, right, live life to the fullest!
So to follow this "logic"... if a drunk driver runs over a small child, its God's will that the driver drove drunk and the child was killed?
Its also presumably God's will here in the UK that we have a National Health Service, and the Equal Marriages Act is currently being approved by Parliament? Why does "God" have different standards for different countries?

That's your choice. Do not try to coerce other people into complying with your personal preferences. Other, more sane people, will probably want affordable insurance in case they are met with a medical emergency.
Just pray very hard that you won't get a long, painful, debilitating illness before you qualify for Medicare and that your family will be happy to nurse you 24 hours a day. As you're out of work, are you happy to rely on God and refuse welfare, Medicaid and food stamps?
Hasan, for all the hundreds of thousands of wasted words on euthanasia, the point many miss seeing is that a lot of incurables can just stop eating.
And there are people who don't keep the medical industry alive with their patronage. But there really aren't many of them.
@ PG
Ignorant and compassionless, as usual.
You might want to read up on the length and depth of the pain and suffering that "incurables" would have to endure if they were to "just stop eating" in order to end their own lives.
Yet another idiot who is incapable of comprehending the fact that a requirement that everyone buy private insurance is not government-run health care, or that Medicare, the best insurance plan we have, IS government-run, and has been for decades.
Riight. And then the day you actually do get sick and end up in the hospital with a half-million dollar bill staring you in the face, you'll be screaming at the billing department, demanding to see the social worker in charge of getting you the government-run Medicaid that your red-state Reublican governor tried to dismantle.
At fifty-one, I would have liked to have such an insanity to participate in, but my enforced absence from the insurance-and-pharma run industry we do have forced to clean up my act, and I haven't become a pillhead, like some of my friends who could afford American medical care

It's also, as an adult, your choice. It's when you idiots insist upon praying instead of getting health care for your child that it is no longer your choice...because someone else dies . Someone who is depending upon you for love, help and protection. There is no greater betrayal.

Its a gain for us too.

Phill must be running the death panel that pulls the plug on grandma.
Not only does he spare healthcare money, we also won't have to give him pension !
If only more "healthcare deniers" could do that
At least you'll only be killing yourself, and not letting innocent babies die of preventable illness, like a lot of other nutjobs. You are running up the cost of standard healthcare for the rest of us, however. So, thanks a lot.
It's Jesus living in me and if he says it's time then it's time.
Please, don't mistake Jesus for a tumor again, thank you very much.
Brave words. Wait till the excruciating pain hits.
I just watched a family friend die of congestive heart failure, and it wasn't fucking funny. And her family could afford hospice care.

The list of words that P-G IDiot doesn't understand gets longer.

Careful. That kind of Fatalism is borderline Atheistic, and therefore Heresy ! [/Ordo Malleus]

Go ahead and die , little Raptard.

The problem with your viewpoint is that you will change it immediately when you get some sort of horrible, painful disease. You won't go quietly and I will have to pay the costs of your care through higher premiums.
You are a jerk and a lousy member of a civil society.
That's a terrible thing. No healthcare for the unemployed and in a supposedly christian country.
"Jesus. I'm sorry Mrs Lazarus. I can't help you son ...he's unemployed.".
As for you. You're an idiot.
@Adey
Sartorial, syntax, orthodox, pilpul, honesty and decency also belong on that list.
My mum, who is 60, slipped on the ice and broke her wrist a year or two ago. Off she went to the emergency department and got it fixed. She has worked and paid taxes all her life, some of which funds have gone into the NHS, so has already paid for this treatment.
What exactly is insane about that?
According to a study published in a recent issue of "The Lancet" (which - like the similar & equally august medical periodical, the "British Medical Journal" - relies on Peer Review), long-term use of high-strength painkillers increases the risk of heart attacks.
Rush Limburger is an Oxycontin addict.
It's just a matter of time...! >:D
The fat blubberbag drug-addict hypocrite inferior subhuman Nazi gasbag Rushiepoos is one of your Teabagger lot, is he not, Ruptured Retards? What was that about 'For me to die is gain', tscopemkr...?!
Following your logic, why having hospitals in the first place?. Seems that, in your case, God is not paying too much attention to you
Confused?
