With a Lottery for our leaders, GOD will have a chance to participate, with elections, it is only the devil that decides. With a lottery, we will all be on the same side. No partisan fighting, and term limits who cares, for with a lottery, chances of getting in twice is very low. The change will be to focus on the job and not be Hollywood political stars trying to get the money, the votes, the greed, the lies, the cheating, and on and on and on. With a lottery, none of this will be important.
As was reported in Las Vegas, the union trucks go around to pick up the voting machines, and the truck has many voting machines already loaded on the truck, these voting machines are pre-loaded with HR votes, and then they unload the machines and it is all rigged. Lottery is the solution. Though it will never happen today, after the great change, those that are there to put in the new Constitution, can make this addition. Also have 5 year maximum for any govt job, and accumulative, no more. Career govt workers are a problem, 5 years is enough.

A lottery to decide who gets to be a president? Oh, for the love of... That's got to be one of the worst ideas I have ever heard, for it is a process bound to elect terrible leaders, God or no God.
Doesn't the Bible say that all worldly leaders are placed in that position by the Grace of God, or something? Who are you to contradict the Bible, Billy?
If you can rig an election, then you can rig a lottery too.
I bet the voting machines are verified by election controllers and sealed.
What are HR votes? Human rights? Human resources? House of Representative? Henry Rollins? Croatian votes?
Actually, I recently heard somewhere that one city or other in ancient Greece used that system and faired very well with it. (I think it was in an episode of QI.)
You just have to make sure that the “lottery pool” consists only of well-educated and well-informed people. But then, to limit the political power to an however defined “elite” goes very much against our modern understanding of democracy and how governments get their authority.
And as the biggest flaw in any political theory (be it such a lottery, communism or even democracy, both representative or direct) is human nature, we would manage to fuck up that system, too.

ETA:
According to Wikipedia, it is called Sortition and was practiced in ancient Athens (and later in medieval Italian city-states) and is still kind of around in selecting juries and other cases.
1. Why are elections decided by the Devil, but unaffected by God? I suspect that the 'Devil' here is permitting people to think for themselves.
2. If for some insane reason government leaders were elected via lottery, would it not be disingenous of a good God to rig what is supposed to be a random process?
3. If God truly wanted to interfere in the democratic process and force the nation to accept his chosen leaders, could he not do this without the farcical lottery?
This entire post is filled with terrible ideas. Instead of having a mandate from the people, anyone with any wacko ideas has a chance of becoming president with a lottery system.
And limiting government jobs to 5 years guarantees that nobody will want those jobs, if they know they're going to be fired in 5 years. I know I'd want something a little more long-term. Not to mention how hard it would be to find qualified applicants every 5 years. Also not to mention that you'd get even worse service at government offices if the people working there knew they were just working in a temporary job.
I'm scared to imagine what's in this "new Constitution" that William has in mind.
"Also have 5 year maximum for any govt job, and accumulative, no more. Career govt workers are a problem, 5 years is enough."
You do realize that police officers, fire(wo)men, spy agents and soldiers are all government jobs, right?
Posts like this that imply God is impotent, with a will thwartable by the actions of humans, from people whom I suspect would claim God is omnipotent, make my blood boil. Contraception is teh evulz because it should be God's choice as to how many children a couple has, you say? Gee, well if God is omnipotent, then why, in the event that he wants a couple to have children but they're using contraception, doesn't he rustle up some of that infinite power of his to make the women become pregnant anyway? Do such thoughts never even cross the brains of the people who say these things?
With a Lottery for our leaders, GOD will have a chance to participate
Is God a citizen? No? Then sorry, he can't participate. Even if he could he'd make a terrible leader. Any time you ask him for anything he doesn't respond and expects you to do all of the work while he takes credit for it. Oh wait, you mean God can game the system. What kind of random election is that?
with elections, it is only the devil that decides
Why is it that every time fundies talk about Satan they always make him seem better than God? Satan is for decisions and elections, God is for random lotteries and cheating the system.
With a lottery, we will all be on the same side. No partisan fighting
Yeah, sure. Until some gay man or atheist gets randomly chosen. Then out come the conspiracy theories and pitchforks.
Also have 5 year maximum for any govt job, and accumulative, no more.
What about teachers and police officers? I'd rather have experienced ones than have to retrain a ton of rookies every five years.

I think we can safely assume that in William’s mind these people wouldn’t be part of the “pool”.
Well, just as the Devil has all the best tunes. he also has the best balls when it comes to Lotteries, does he not...?!

If Willie & his ilk are so concerned about 'change', then we should take what he says literally : before, it was 'No Taxation without Representation'. Change it to...:

...No Representation without Education.
The film "Idiocracy " springs to mind. Hopefully with the disillusionment (certainly what I saw in Ruptured Retards, post-late 2012) in elections by the above herp-a-derp-derp drooling retarded subnormal freaks, said film won't look more and more a documentary with subsequent viewings.
Does William have any proof that voting machines are rigged, other than the fact that elections don't go the way he wants?
And I can guarantee that if you limit government jobs to 5 years, you'll never see your Social Security check again. Why should bureaucrats care how well they perform if they can't hope for job security?
With a Lottery for our leaders, GOD will have a chance to participate
If you owned a business, would you have a lottery to select your CEO and leave it to God to pick the right one? How about holding a lottery for someone to treat your broken leg or pneumonia? Maybe we could have a lottery for airline pilots and bridge engineers.
So the ucs from 2150 where the computers run everything? K...
Seriously though, the devil is a god damn prisoner in hell. The devil is a powerless asshat. stop blaming god inaction in our world and human free will on him.
Yeah, the ancient Athenians tried something like this. Not a bad idea, in theory, but just as vulnerable to corruption as any other system. Doesn't sound very Godly, though.
"GOD will have a chance to participate".
Why doesn't he participate anyway? He's all-powerful, and can do whatever he likes.
If he wanted to participate, by definition, he could.
A... lottery?
Oh god, this made my day. I'm nearly laughing at something someone wrote. That's actually pretty hard to get me to do.
Anyway, down to the problems:
'With a lottery, we will all be on the same side.'
Wrong. It's just plain wrong.
'The change will be to focus on the job'
Nope. They no longer have to care so much about the people, because they no longer have an affect.
'As was reported in Las Vegas, the union trucks go around to pick up the voting machines, and the truck has many voting machines already loaded on the truck, these voting machines are pre-loaded with HR votes, and then they unload the machines and it is all rigged.'

Doesn't it say in Romans 13:1 that all authorities are appointed by God? Sounds like you don't know your Bible, William. And you'd like safety specialists, pilots, air traffic controllers, corrections officers and people responsible for disaster management to leave their jobs after 5 years? Can't see this catching on...
Confused?
