I've always believed that people with AIDS should have it printed on their driver license/ID that they are HIV positive.

why?
Medical professionals treat everyone as if they had an infectious transmittable disease.
It wouldn't help anyone, but would allow easier discrimination...oh yeah...now I get why you're for it.
I don't see why. When you go to administer first aid on someone, you always exercise appropriate caution in case the person is HIV positive. It doesn't take that much extra effort, and in any case, it's only people who are diagnosed HIV positive that would have this on their ID. People who are HIV positive but undiagnosed wouldn't have this on their ID, so you would still have to take the precautions you would take if this wasn't on the ID, making the printing of this information on the ID totally redundant.
That said, I wouldn't be against it if fuckwits like you would stop stigmatizing people with HIV. But as it stands, you are the major problem with this idea.
I...don't really understand why you want that.
Also, AIDS =/= HIV. One can be HIV positive and not actually have AIDS (with is a syndrome (S), not a virus (V)), so your logic fails even within that one sentence. I suspect you just wanted to use a larger vocabulary to make yourself sound smart.
Even so, it's not really fundie. There are a wide range of (bad) reasons to discriminate, not just religion.
What about folks with hepatitis? Why I heard even straight people can get that there hepatitis!
Do you really think that every time a person has to show their ID for some reason, it is the business of the person looking at it to know their health status? Stupid ass! Get the fuck off my planet.
Yes indeed. And Chlamidia. Syphilis and Gonorrhoea. Your genital warts and crabs, absolutely. Herpes and hepatitis. You'd have to trade drivers licences before getting lucky in a night-club. Or sharing altar wine for communinion.
We should put your IQ on it too.
And penis size. There's no end to the list of things about you we could make publically available against your will. What a great idea for screwing with people's heads you've come up with. For medical purposes, no benefit at all.
Oh it makes perfect sense. I know when I get laid, I always check their driver's license. Gotta be legal and all.
And when I'm at a bar, I check everyone's license there, just to be safe.
Your idea wouldn't change ANYTHING.
Actually in a first aid scenario there is very little blood transfer. Unless you have gingivitis its unlikely that you will get HIV from giving mouth to mouth. The chance is miniscule.
The argument is like avoiding sex because you can get a hernia.
Oh, yes: Public shaming, ever so progressive and liberal. It might not be religiously fundie, but it's dumb and invasive and wrong.
Let's say I am HIV positive.
I have a check card. Many times when I present it to a cashier, he or she asks me for my ID. If I had to pass over one that said I was HIV positive, I think it would quickly lead to a nervous breakdown as I wondered each time if this would be the time someone makes a big deal out of it.
Not to mention if some dumbass ever learned I was HIV positive and decided he could bust my head open, rob me blind, and make off with my car and all my expensive things to hawk to pawnshops, knowing that if he was caught, he could just plead gay panic and get away with it, citing my HIV positive status as proof of my sexual orientation.
Not to mention the problems it would pose to people who are gay, who are closeted for whatever reason, and who are HIV positive. We're talking about outing people who are willfully closeted for their own safety.
Not. Cool.
Then Jews will have to wear yellow stars, Muslims will have to wear those star moon things, Christains will have to wear a dunce cap, ect...
Fucking red neck.
This is why everyone thinks Americans are stupid.
(no offence guys. it's not me, it's all the other English speaking countries!)
I support the fact that people with syphillis have it printed on their driver's license/ID.
Because you know, who would want to be around a syphilitic?
Confused?
