Ive met and talked with a survivor of the Nazis' ultimate death factory; Auschwitz. Not taking into account his initial treatment as a 10th-class citizen, robbed of his property & assets, ghettoisation, then taken to Auschwitz where he was used as slave labour, beaten & tortured (as he was able-bodied, he was spared the tender mercies of the summary exexcution squad, or being gassed & incinerated), but saw his entire family shot before his eyes, I guess he - as a 'believer' in the same Abrahamic God as you do ('Jehovah', 'Yahweh', 'YHWH'; or 'Elohim'/'Adonai' as Jews like him* referred to such) was in the perfect position to see how he (& his ilk) was singled out for discrimination.
Yet, today, he would say that until you and your right-wing fundie ilk have experienced the exact same atrocities committed against you, it is impossible for you to so much as think you have the right to consider yourself 'Persecuted'.
Being pointed & laughed at for your insane & unjustifiable bullshit based on your way of thinking, nor no longer having the legal right to 'Persecute' those not exactly like you (LGBT people, women wanting abortions, liberals etc) doth not constitute Persecution in itself.

*- Up to that point, he was a practicing Jew. From the moment he saw his entire family executed, his religious beliefs went with the blood of his wife, children, mother & father down the drain. Whilst he still follows a Kosher diet, he's an Atheist.
