It's been working great all these years; why change anything for anyone opposing it? Let's not change any of our Constitution. We are a Christian-based America. I don't care if a few don't like it or believe in our ways, but DO NOT ALLOW them to change our ways. They're over here in our country and we are a Christian-based culture!

I agree, let's not change the constitution. We are, and always have been, a government of laws, not of religions. The USA isn't a Christian nation, and you should probably have someone read that first amendment to the constitution to you.
Yeah, not allowing women to vote was working great for years, and then some mouthy bitches insisted on changing the our Constitution. And those slaves were happy and singing until they changed our Constitution. We've never had anyone disagreeing with the government until now, and the Constitution implies people should all be the same.
Judy obviously hasn't read the Constitution, or she would know that we are not a Christian-based America. She would also know that the Founding Fathers knew the Constitution would need to be changed, or they wouldn't have included a mechanism for doing so.
Someone's been listening to David Barton. And is dumb enough to believe him. His radio shown intro touts him as America's premier historian. One of his books The Jefferson Lies was pulled by the publisher because real historians were tearing it apart in reviews. Mr. Barton has a Bachelors degree from Oral Roberts University, a so called PhD. from unaccredited Pensacola Christian College and has claimed to have a PhD. in Education that no one can verify from any source. It was an executive from PCC who blew the whistle on Kent Hovind, Interestingly enough.
I actually responded to this myself. (and of course, never got a response back from her) I was wondering two things: How is any less MY country than it is YOURS, and what the hell is she getting this crap about "changing the Constitution" from? This was a story about a petition to the SCOTUS to appeal a NC ruling that exclusively-Christian prayers in a county board of commissioners were unconstitutional. No one on either side said anything about changing the Constitution. This seems to be a thing among fundies in general; they argue against something that isn't even being argued.
Okay. Let's leave it as it is, then. So, you're cool with the gay marriage, legal abortion, and the rights of others to practice their faiths as they see fit, right? All of these things have been defended by the Supreme Court, who's function and powers are outlined in Article 3. Further, the last of these things, along with the fact that the government cannot take sides as far as religion goes, are in the First Amendment.
Still want to keep things as they are? Because something tells me you really don't.
"t's been working great all these years;”
You’re clearly not talking about the constitution, right? Have you any idea how many changes there have been made to the Constitution?
Every Amendment, for one, literally changes it.
Every SCOTUS decision adds to it, amplifies it, explains it. Changes it to a new situation unanticipated by the framers.
"Let's not change any of our Constitution.”
As a legal expert, you make a good marshmallow.
“We are a Christian-based America.”
No, not even slightly.
“I don't care if a few don't like it or believe in our ways, but DO NOT ALLOW them to change our ways.”
But those are NOT our ways.
“They're over here in our country and we are a Christian-based culture!”
Just provide the scriptureal basis for the decorations we see in the stores at Christmas, please?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
