[Responding to a post asking why zygotes have souls but eggs and sperm don't]

No, they would not have souls before they were conceived. The reason being is that their DNA (which actually makes them human) has not come to be yet. They only have half of the genetic material needed. The X and the Y must unite to complete the DNA sequence of that specific individual. The most you could argue for is that the sperm has half a soul and the egg the other half and there is no telling which halves would end up together.

Unless you are asserting that some persons are conceived by a union of two sperm, we certainly know that one half of the genetic material is in the egg.
Then how do you explain homosexuals? Ah, when two sperm souls bind or two ovum .. well, they can't so there can only be male homosexuals. But if that were so then all this genetic material was designed by god, created by god, and allowed to deviate by god so homosexuals are designed by god! Not sure what to make of lesbians though but does it matter? After all, women have no souls, that's why they generally raise the children while the male gets to go off and mingle with the other soul-bearing humans.

What I can tell from your arguement-
Wait, wait, I think I understand it now. It's not whether or not a person or a zygote has "a soul," it's that Brian is an "asshole."
I won't stand for this kind of soulism! People are always protesting the destruction of souls through abortion, and nobody seems to care about the poor little half-souls! Soul-ial discrimination is a blight upon our society! Remember, you can't spell 'half-soul' without 'soul'!
If DNA makes a soul, then you have to explain why humans have souls and animals, all of which have DNA, a few of which are over 95% genetically similar to us. Is there a 'soul gene'?
