All the automobiles in the world could never mess up the system, if that was the case the eruptions of the world's vulcanoes would have done so a long time ago.

Inadvertantly it's right - all the automobiles in the world (currently) couldn't, but when you combined that with the far more significant factors - coal fired power stations, industry, deforestation etc, but wait, then there's a fuckwit comment about volcanoes.
So nice to know that we can't mess things up. So the hole in the ozone layer we caused which won't close until 20xx wasn't actually caused by US, but was part of gods plan. Same with every oil spill, the extinction of thousands of species, the destruction of the rain forest, and more. All gods fault, not ours.
Adding to Julians reply; there are many chemicals in household cleaners, spray bottles, and airconditions that have been tested and proven eat away at ozone gasses.

Yeah, I did some maths the other day. My house doesn't use an excessive amount of electricity. We don't use air conditioning, we don't use heaters, we have gas hot water and a gas stove and efficient appliances (apart from the washing machine). If the electricity we used came from coal fired power stations, that minor amount is responsible for 2½ tons of CO2 being pumped into the atmosphere every year. (assuming no energy loss on transportation or storage which is quite unrealistic)

You're somewhat right, back in the 50s maybe when there was far less cars and coal generated plants. Even then though Detroit, steel towns and California smog were serious concerns.
