Sam Guitar, teetering between fundamentalism and reality.
Hopefully he'll find enough info to push him over to this side.
Evolution is an objective theory based on facts and findings.
Most religions are subjectively manufactured ways to control population.
Also... Evolution does not automatically disprove a higher power. It only punches huge holes in religions like christianity for instance.
Evolution doesn't say hpw everything came to be, only why it looks the way it does.
And where is your proof that God exists? And no using the book as your proof. There are books on evolution, and you are ignoring those.
Why do you have to be so binary? Who says God and evolution are mutually exclusive?
"But since I have lived my life assuming there is a God, being told there wasn't would shatter my soul, so I will defend my faith until the end, no matter what the evidence"
fixed.

Why? The two have nothing to do with each other. Evolution doesn't say there's no God - it just says Genesis isn't literally true. Plenty of people manage to believe in God without believing the earth was created in six days 6,000 years ago.
Why if it were true would you say there is no god? Atheism and evolution do not go hand in hand. Also real proof of evolution? The fossils, the fact organisms adapt to their environment to change, the fact that there are museums that show it.
Oh yeah? Well, if evolution was false I would say there was no God but since there is mountains of evidence that evolution is true I can believe in a God.
How you like that, Miss Sunshine?
There is plenty of proof that evolution is true, but you just don't want to see it. Of course, if you think evolution means a dog giving birth to kittens or a goldfish turning into a whale overnight then, no, there is no proof of it - for the very good reason that it doesn't fucking work that way.
note: Believing in God and accepting evolution as a mundane fact are not required to be opposite ideas. You don't have to believe in God to not believe in evolution. Likewise, you do not have to be an atheist to believe in evolution. They two are totally unrelated. There are many Christians who have a good grasp of science and accept evolution as a mundane fact of human existence.
Doy.
I wish it wasn't so, but:
Evolution has nothing to do with god. If the theory of evolution is incorrect that wouldn't mean that there's necessarily a god, and vice versa. While evolution certainly proves the Christian creation myth wrong, it doesn't say that there is NO god at all.
Confused?
