Neither does the Catholic church exist in the Bible, it's an invention of man.
Note: I'm talking of the official Catholic religion headed by the Pope, not he universal or catholic church of Christ which includes all of the saved. It can be confusing since the official Catholic religion has "borrowed" the word catholic for their name while having no idea what the catholic church really is.

How the hell is anyone supposed to become a christian when they have no way in hell of determining who the right christians are? I mean, if I choose a denomination I agree with, or who has coerced me enough, I am still not guaranteed salvation because it is the wrong denomination.
Even fundies can't agree on doctrine, history, or reality. How the hell are the poor saps of society supposed to know who is right and who is wrong?
Man created the Catholic church.
The Catholic church created the bible.
The bible created a bunch of different christians sects.
God's involvement.
The Bible never speaks of its translation 1600 years later. And of course, Catholic comes from Greek, which was the language of the first Christians, NOT ENGLISH.

The Catholic Church disagrees. They point to Matthew 16:18-19: "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." The Catholic Church claims a continuous chain of inheritance of that authority since Peter. Some may disagree, but they aren't likely to come up with any evidence of a better candidate.

Looks like fundies are accusing the Catholics of doing the same thing to Christianity.
There are some 2,500 Protestant denominations and sects worlwide. Each is the "one, true church." Logic suggests that 2,499 of them are wrong. Probability suggests they all are.

I'm pretty sure the Bible as we know it was edited and published by the Roman Catholic Church.
Note on his note: The word "catholic" also means "universal". It's used in religion to denote things other than the Roman Catholic Church.
