In response to Georgia's droughts and the governor praying for rain:
The best thing we could do is have all the Christians pray for rain and all the others pray for dry weather. In the natural the odds would be with them, but we know we'd win!!! Hallelujah! What a witness that would be!

Buh...wah?
Sooner or later it'll rain. Prayer will accomplish nothing, but you'll still think it was you that caused it to rain.
Meanwhile, while it's dry, the ones praying for drought feel they're getting their prayers answered.
You're all deluded idiots.
Perdue has done this before and, lo and behold, it rained the next day! They've even been reporting that on the news about this event. The problem was, the rain had been predicted for a week or so. And, guess what, there's a 20% chance of rain predicted for Wednesday. He sure knows how to time his prayer services ;-)
Or you could pray fro me to sneeze. I don't have a cold or anything, but odds are, I'll eventually sneeze.
Same thing here. Try praying for it to rain gold coins. You pray for a natural occurrence, it will happen. You want believers? Pray for something that WOULDN'T happen. Prove it happened. Then we'll talk.
Why not start sacrificing things instead? He could start with a rabbit and work his way up.
If he chops his firstborn child without a result he'll have proven conclusively that sacrifices just don't work! So that will be one less false religious practice to lead the faithful astray.
After that, we could all dress as pirates and have a huge pasta cook-out...
More fundie logic.
When every see this kind of fundie BS I m alway taken back to the Miner disaster were all the fundies were whooping it up in the middle of street and singing hymns and screaming alleluias and cooking breakfast for the rescue workers .Telling any reporter who had a camera or microphone ,at how right they were and how s their prays to Jesus were answered and no one in this country would ever question the power of Jesus Christ and the fundamentalist church agina ..Oh how sweet it was .The day was turing out to be the fundies most finest hour .The fundies had beat the atheist and doubters . They all the proof they needed and had been waiting for .WHat more could a fundie ask for , a real live actual undisputed miracle .God did it he answered their prays and he preformed a miracle for all the world to see on national TV .What glories day it was to be a fundie.I was watching this all on CNN then they started to chant Gore sucks until a some thought that wasn't very Nice and then broke into a rendition of Bring in the sheaves or is bring in the sheep .But the fundie were in great mood ,and no liberal or atheist was gong to change it .
.That was until truth come out and they found out that God didn't answer their prays and Jesus was coming to breakfast. And god didn't perform a miracle .
.And the miner had all perished except for 1 lucky person .
Did the fundies get piss off .You bet your socks they did. ,But did they get piss at God or Jesus, No fucking way ..They got piss off at the poor sucker who thought he over heard that they found them all alive . and told a few friends at what he heard .And how it snow balled into a big fat lie...
Tell you what. I'll grab my magic gourd here and do a rain dance for you, just in case the prayers of the "others" overpower you. If I do it for a few weeks, it's bound to appease the gods sooner or later, and they'll make it rain!
The best thing we could do is have all the Christians pray for rain and all the others pray for dry weather
You do that. While you're doing that, just for shits and giggles, maybe you can go ahead and see what you can do to assist them in the way of relief supplies or manual labor. Even a charitable cash fund to help drought striken farmers is better than nothing.
But given that Georgia normally has quite a damp climate, it is reasonable to assume that it will rain again. I have a better test, have all the hard-line believers pray for no rain and then just wait and see what happens. The smart bet is that it will rain thus negating the effects of the praying.
I guess it is natural for fundies to pray for bad things to happen to other people. For me, I would do what i could to make it rain in Georgia in order to help drought victims. But my powers are restricted, and even if I thought I had a chance of proving a point by praying for dry weather, i would not wish that for thirsty Georgians.
P.S. Who does the fundy think us nonbelevers should pray to.
... I wonder what would happen if they all prayed for rain and got devastating wildfires instead?
(Bear in mind I know nothing about Georgia so have no idea whether it has woodland, shrubland or anything else that would burn easily. Also bear in mind I'm not advocating anything of the sort. Just wonderin', is all...)
When you pray for an eventuality, of course it will come true
Like, sooner or later it's gonna rain regardless of anyone's prayers
Prayers can make rain? Holy crap someone should tell that to people in places like Somalia and Ethiopia.
Incidently the OP seems oblivious to the irony that Christianity, like the other Abrahamic faiths, originated in a desert which, by the way, is STILL a desert.
The best thing you could do is have a large prayer ritual for rain, when forecasts call for none, have it rain on you, spread out and rain where it hasn't for a long time and do a moderate but steady rain that lasts just long enough to renourish all the drought striken land and the garden of Eden to spring up in that football stadium y'all went to pray at.
> Weren't you people praying for Obama to lose?
No. Since he's the Antichrist, they wanted him to win so that the world would end.
You realize it's always raining somewhere right
Not to mention if it rained like a week later, you'd still claim victory
In Texas, they claimed prayers answered when it took over another month and produced not nearly enough.
And Georgias Bible belt, most are Christian. Where do you get the idea "all the others" aren't? You a lil ol cultist maybe? And why the hell would the others pray or even wish it wouldn't rain?
It's posts like this that prove my theory that unresolvable contradictions in the Bible cause the Literalist to self destroy their logical senses to cope and start seeing any subject in the most unlikely way (slippery slopers) to equalize reality with Biblical fuckedupery.
I don't get it. If god only answers prayers of Christian fundies, how come they have stories of atheists praying, getting their prayer answered, and subsequently turning into a fundy?
Or are they admitting these people used to be fundies all along?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
