Putting out tracts at school is a good thing to do. Most kids today in the school system need Christ. Tell your sons and daughters to pass out tracts!

Anyone who needs Christ, child or adult can go find him at CHURCH, not the public schools.
Why bother though, aren't you guys otta here soon?
Yeah considering the fact that those little tracts of yours wouldn't convince a five year old I think you'd have a better chance of conversion without the tracts.
Anyway children shouldn't be subjected to such incredibly crappy litterature.
Yeah, America's students are falling behind, compared to the rest of the world, so we need to make SURE they have invisible friends and no desire to research anything beyond "Goddidit"
So if your kid came back with a copy of "Kissing Hank's Ass" they'd been given at school, or a pamphlet called "The God Delusion, a Junior Introduction", or "20 easy Wiccan spells for kids", you wouldn't - say - explode in an incandescent rage and demand that that sort of filthy propaganda should be kept out of public schools and well away from your children?
Only if your kids can hand out religious tracts, so can everyone else's. And who knows what sort of crazy half-baked ideas they might have?!
@onoma: How is this "not fundie?" What the hell do you people want? Is there nothing that we can post that someone won't declare "Not fundie?"
As for the comment: You appear to be encouraging your children to engage in harassment. That's a good lesson to learn.
"Putting out tracts at school is a good thing to do. "
No. No, it really isn't.
@Generic Human Fleshbot: "I burn tracts that I recieve."
I think I'll start carrying a lighter so if that ever happens, I can burn it right there in front of them, after saying with mock sincerity, "Why, THANK YOU! I can really put this to good use!"
@Nowonmai: Only illegal for the teachers. Students are perfectly entitled to pass out Giant Flying Sphaghetti Monster material, Church of the Invisible Pink Unicorn brochures, Buddhism fact sheets, or to talk about their Islamic, Pagan or Hindu beliefs. *Teachers* just aren't allowed to preach with the support of authority behind them.
@Nowonmai: "Putting out tracts at schools is an arrestable, and prosecutable offense. Please do so, as maybe a stint behind bars might smarten you up."
They'd just try to proselytize to their fellow prisoners.
Of course, since the prison population of the US is roughly the same ratio as the rest of the country, that would be like "preaching to the choir."
@David B: This actually happened in Albemarle, Va. A local Baptist church, aided and abetted by Jerry Falwell, forced the school to allow them to send ads for their Bible camp home in kids' school backpacks. So a local non-denominational church used the same privilege to announce their holiday program, which included Wiccan beliefs. All of a sudden, the local Baptist bigots hit the roof.
If I ever recieve a tract in public, I will smile, pull out a lighter, and burn it in front of them.
Wow a voice of reason on that site:
"While it sounds like a good idea, put the shoe on the other foot........how would you like your kids getting tracts at school promoting Islam??? I'm all for passing out tracts, but do it after school hours away from the school building and the school bus. You know it will only stir up a can of worms to hand them out on school property.
Kathy"
What a marvelous way to socially alienate your children. Of course, you fundies probably like the idea of your kids having no friends, since that would make it easier to brainwash them, eh?
Killing more trees fer Jeebus.
Oh, right, it doesn't matter. They'll be ruptured by the time the trees are all gone.
Fucksticks!
@ RBM11
Kathy must be one of those damn liberals they've been complaining about that has infiltrated their boards. You know ones that think there's a possibility the rapture won't happen next week, or that maybe we should be our brothers keeper.
She'll be banned soon for saying something like Obama's just a politician, or some such nonsense.
"Most kids today in the school system need Christ."
Who, dammit!? Most kids are Christian by their own admission, have Christian parents, live in Christian neighborhoods, and have some Christian classmates and some Christian teachers. They will hear about your basic tenets from either them or from the T.V. and vidja games eventually. There is no need to start preaching to the choir and trying to convert the Muslim and Hindus in the classroom with your paternalistic brainwashing techniques.
watcher,
b/c it's not a far fetched idea for someone to pass out tracts for something they believe strongly in, it's not going to hurt anyone (one could argue that the children may be bullied, but children are bullied for a lot less than handing out pamphlets), and it's just not that interesting of a quote.
If the quote was "We HAVE to FORCE our children to pass out the LORD'S WORD before we get teh raptured!" then I might reconsider.
'Is there nothing that we can post that someone won't declare "Not fundie?"'
and no, there is not. Every quote is going to have at least 1 'not fundie' and 1 'poe!' :-P
OHHHHH GOODDDIE!!
Chick Tracts!
yeah, i got handed one when i was walking through Northbridge one night (just so you know, Northbridge is like the night-life area here, most pubs and clubs are on the three streets of northies, anyways) yeah, walking through at like 2 in the morning, some dude handed me a "million dollar note" my mates and i took it thinking "lol, how funny, a million dollars!" and then we read the tiny writing, it was ful-on fundie propoganda bullshit, i tried to find this douchebag so i could shove the note up his ass, but he'd gone >.<
If I die before I wake
at least in heaven I can skate
'cause right now on earth I can't do jack
without the man up on my back
now heaven would be a DJ
spinning dub all night long
and heaven would just kicking back
with Jesus packing my bong
and if you don't believe in Jesus and Muhammad or Buddha too
and while the world is warring
just sit back and laugh at you singing..
If I die before I wake
at least in heaven I can skate
'cause right now on earth I can't do jack
without the man up on my back
now most people think of heaven
they see those pearly gates
but I looked a little closer
and there's a sign says "do not skate"
so if you wanna come to my heaven
well we're all gonna have a ball
and everyone u know is welcome
'cause we got no gates or walls singing.
If I die before I wake
at least in heaven I can skate
'cause right now on earth I can't do shit
without the man fucking with it
and then I got to the gate
pulled a list that I'd been calling fate
I'm sorry friend you can't come in
you gotta a list here that doesn't end
you're mad 'cause I smoke dope
you teaching any classes in how to cope
I'll find a place to rest my head
I rather be alone now that I'm dead
like Christian hossoi way back in 87
we'll be busting Christ air's until we get to heaven
think I really care that I miss my biology
got my education in stale fishology
with all your rules you got to chill
I'm gonna twist out Mike McGill
I'm gonna twist out 'cause I got the skills
I'm gonna twist out 'cause I got the skills... got the skills got the skills
heaven is a halfpipe..
heaven is a halfpipe..
If I die before I wake
at least in heaven I can skate
'cause right now on earth I can't do jack
without the man up on my back
If I die before I wake
at least in heaven I can skate
'cause right now on earth I can't do shit
without the man fucking with it
I love that song

For probably the first time ever, I have a sudden urge to make a donation to a church.
(But not the baptist one, obviously.)
@Heather
"Do you REALLY want your kids to have the crap beaten out of them?"
Oh.
Ermm..
Teh-
Crap?
EEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!111111!
U gots a sick mind Heather!
keep Christ out of the public school system, and you will have no trouble with me. Try passing out your tracts, and I will harm you, finacaly, physicly, and spirtualy, even if it fucks up my own carrer
WTF do you need tractors in a school?
Where on earth are you going to park them? - Oh sorry, TRACTS - mis-read it, silly me.:-)
What would be better is me going into church - driving a D9 Caterpillar bulldozer.
[Putting out tracts at school is a good thing to do.]
I strongly disagree. Evangelizing to other people's children without their consent, directly or indirectly, is asking for trouble.
[Most kids today in the school system need Christ.]
Says you. If your kids need Christ, take them to church. Don't try to raise other people's children.
Putting out skittles at school is a good thing to do. Most kids today in the school system need Candy. Tell your sons and daughters to pass out skittles!
Putting out crack at school is a good thing to do. Most kids today in the school system need Drugs. Tell your sons and daughters to pass out crack!
Putting out condoms at school is a good thing to do. Most kids today in the school system need contraceptives. Tell your sons and daughters to pass out condoms!
Sorry, if somebody already did this ...
Oh come on, Nowonmai, you can't ARREST people for doing it - or maybe you can; most fundies say you can't because in their eyes, being arrested means you did something truly bad.
Not so. If you start walking around swearing in the street, a crime that DOESN'T HARM ANYONE AT ALL, the police can and have a duty too ARREST YOU and put you in the HOLDING VAN for a while.
Sure, being Drunk and Disorderly and handing out Tracts aren't offences punishable by PRISON, but they are still ARRESTABLE offenses.
ARRESTABLE =/= WORTHY OF JAIL, not always.
@Michael:
Our school had a tractor. It was parked out by the greenhouse, next to the tobacco field that bordered our football field.
I lived WAY out in the sticks.
@Charni: You and me both!
@NonProphet : I'll join you! Shall we tell them to worship Ra, Anubis, Horus, Set and Bast or be Judged and reincarnated as a sandflea?
Well, even if they find it annoying, it's not like people HAVE to accept said tracts.
@Feminazi: It's not shoving beliefs down people's throats if it's just passing out tracts. Like I said, you wouldn't be forced to accept it, and if you were, it'd start to border on the shoving, yes.
"Putting out at school is a good thing to do.
Most kids today in the school system need.
Tell your sons and daughters to pass out."
Frightening what you get when you remove exclusively the words "tract" and "Christ". Draw your own conclusions ...
you shouldn't tell your kids to indoctrinate on government property. I can only see that ending badly for them.
Besides, what's Christ gonna do for these kids here and now? Allegedly he's long since dead and he did his bit. According to most Xian dogma you just need to believe that the bizarre tale of him being murdered and coming back to life was somehow important to you and that you now get to go to super happy funland when you die.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
