In the cartoon he did not say anything that would clarify atheism as a religion. So what is the point?
It is unlikely Dawkins would deny the existence of pink elephants as here are a couple of a photos.

Fine Adam. While wrong, atheism is a religion like bald is hair style, let us let you have that. Because now it would mean atheism gets protection from first amendment and tax breaks. Congratulations. You killed your own non existent argument because no matter what you were wrong.
For the umpteenth time, "We don't know yet" does not mean "The Bible is correct by default".
We didn't know yet, at the time of the Black Death, what caused it, and thought it was evil spirits. Now we know it was bacteria, probably spread by rats (which were more than usual, as black cats were "of the devil" and were killed). Those who prayed to gods and/or flogged themselves in repentance, became just as sick as those who didn't.
