God set up a soceity that allowed for slavery, and condemned homosexuality. Therefore slavery is not as bad as homosexuality. The fact that soceity says that your intolerance should be reversed only speaks to declining 'morality' in soceity.
Whether that makes me a slave, slave owner or none of the above if we were forced to pick one of the two societies I will pick slavery.

Slavery is not intrinsically bad. It is what man does with slavery that makes it evil..

Got that? The man-made institution isn't bad; it's what man did with it.
I suppose, in fairness, you could say the same thing about Christianity.
So, your god thinks that one person owning another person as property is a good thing, but two people loving each other is a bad thing? Your god is an evil sadistic bastard and I want nothing to do with it.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but I'm quite amused with how Christians keep finding themselves in the awkward position of having to defend slavery because it's in their bible.
That being said, Drich is a freakin' idiot.
You think that the literal ownership of another human being is not intrinsically bad? You think that what two adults do in the privacy of their own home has more of a negative impact of society than a portion of its population being reduced to, literal, property? You would prefer living a a lave than living in a society where homosexuality was not condemned?
Those last 34 states are going to be a breeze with idiots like you defending the opposition to same sex marriage
"God set up a soceity that allowed for slavery, and condemned homosexuality."
Then your god is an immoral monster that deserves condemnation, not worship.
Very nice, Drich....*click*....I now have you locked in some chains. How's about making me a sammich or something?
After that, clean every room of the house THOROUGHLY! When you're done, give me a nice foot massage & feed me some grapes. Then you can do all the yardwork.....
Got a car? You can chauffeur me around town, too!
Jesus was cool but Abrahamic faiths are rather stupid...hence, my NeoPaganism.
Now, Drich...about that sandwich.....
> Whether that makes me a slave, slave owner or none of the above if we were forced to pick one of the two societies I will pick slavery.
At least he recognizes the usual flaw in pro-slavery arguments. Unfortunately, his priorities are so messed up that he'd rather be a slave than tolerate gay people.
slavery is not as bad as homosexuality
Fuck you Drich, I could say more, but this piece of shit doesn´t deserve it.
Ok Drich, I will own you, work you to the point of exhaustion, decide every single aspect of your life and beat you regularly...
... but to make you feel better about it, I won't fuck you.
Deal ?
God set up a soceity that allowed for slavery, and condemned homosexuality. Therefore slavery is not as bad as homosexuality.
According to the Bible, working on the Sabbath or sassing your parents are even worse than either. Homosexuality is only punished by death, method unspecified. Making fun of a bald person gets you torn to shreds by bears.

You say that now but you'd be singing a different tune if you were actually enslaved or had any real chance of being enslaved. As it stands, you can easily say "Yeah, sure. I'll be a slave. Why not?" because there's no realistic chance that it'll ever happen.
It's a real shame that time travel has not been perfected. It would be really gratifying to bring a few of the Founding Fathers to the present time and watch them educate rightwhiners, with judicious blows of a rusty axe, about how much they like theocracy.
"God set up a soceity that allowed for slavery, and condemned homosexuality."
Tell me again how he is the good guy. In a B/D/S/M sense I can see slavery not being bad. But homosexuality would not be worse but equal. As it involves consenting adults. However that isn't the type of slavery in the Bible and a quick look at history shows how awful slavery is.
OK, well you're now my slave. It's not intrinsically bad, so stop complaing and follow god's will, you pussy. Chop! Chop! My laundry isn't going to do itself.
By that measure, slavery is better than cussing your parents. God wants you to sell your kids into slavery.
Whether that makes me a slave, slave owner or none of the above if we were forced to pick one of the two societies I will pick slavery.
Good. I'm sure we can find you a place with an Islamist warlord in Sudan or at a prison camp in North Korea. Take your pick.

...Says the man who has never been a slave, and knows nothing about what slavery is actually like except the fevered imaginings of some dingbat preachers.
Presumably, the closest Drich will ever get to experiencing something akin to slavery is if he becomes an imprisoned criminal. Then, when he experiences the sacred homosexual rites of Christian prisoners, he'll be better able to expound about the subjects uppermost in his er...mind.
Slavery is against human rights, homosexuality is not.
Homosexuality harms no-one, slavery robs people of their rights to life and liberty.
Ergo; homosexuality is good, slavery is bad. End of f-ing story.
Therefore slavery is not as bad as homosexuality.

Slavery is not intrinsically bad.
The fact you find homosexuality (i.e. sex and relations between two human beings happening of being fro the same sex) worse than slavery (i.e. treating a fellow human being as chattel) speaks volumes about your (lack of basic) morality.
"Slavery is not intrinsically bad. It is what man does with slavery that makes it evil.. "
Let's put that cretin in chains and make him work his arse off for a meal and a place at night in a barn. And let's not forget to deport him on an unsafe boat.
You know, there were some ancient slave societies that practiced pedophilia on same-sex child slaves.
Those are the kind of things that SLAVERY ITSELF allows, because humans are no longer humans but property!
GAAAH!
I vote we should here and now auction Drich. If I personally should succeed in getting him/her, I will have lots of interesting things to teach the slave. Failure to learn instantly will result in whipping, until the lesson is learned.
Actually, I abhor slavery. And Drich is an abomination who should really be given a lesson in the horrors that slavery entailed.
Right, it took me a little while to regain my composure for this.
1. Inconsistent message: God gives man free will, but recommends some people take away other people's free will? WTF
2. Consistent message: It's not surprising a religion built around inferior beings blindly serving a superior being find room to declare some people inferior and therefore slavery is OK.
"Slavery is not intrinsically bad."
Provided that you are a master, that is.
If you happen to be a slave, it stinks.
"Slavery is not intrinsically bad."
Ok, you're the slave. I'm going to follow your bible that says I can beat the shit out of you, just as long as you don't die within a day or two. Are you ok with that? Remember you said "it's not intrinsically bad", and I'm following your "holy book" so that makes it ok.
Removing people's rights? Oh, that's all well and good!
Giving homosexuals rights? WHAT ARE YOU, A MONSTER!?
@Doubting Thomas
He may be an idiot but many fundy Christians react like him,not so much because they agree with slavery, deep down, in my opinion, it´s just because, as you have suggested, it´s a thorny issue for Christians. Most Christians outright reject slavery but they feel uncomfortable with the topic because they consider it an old shame that is costing their reputation. On the other hand, guys like this react that way thinking that this way they continue to be consistent with their faith somehow. Of course, later on they rely on the internet anonimity to deny it or say¨"hey guys, I was not serious here"
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
