According to them, the stars are billions of light years away and light only travel at 186.000 miles (299.329 km) per hour. They MUST have an old universe of billions of years for the light to reach us. A BIG and an OLD universe is definitely part of the heliocentric humbug.

I actually like this guy. He is one the very few Christians who doesn't engage in pick and choose literalism. If a Christian is going to be a literalist, he/she really needs to not be a hypocrite about it. Christians should believe the earth is flat, geocentricism, etc... Or not be literalists at all.

The notation issue has already been pointed out, but I'm going to bring it up one more time to make a point: snark all you want, but make it informed snark. The more noise people like Dawkins and Hitchens make (and they should), the more the faithless and rationalists will be subject to scrutiny. Don't forget, our opponents are people who revel in slash-and-burn debating tactics so they don't have to actually defend their ignorant positions. They make enough hash out of science and skepticism to begin with without one of us getting our asses handed to us with our own ignorance. It makes us look bad, and undercuts our message far more than we think.
Yes, people on both sides shoot first without thinking. And I'd be a lying hypocritical bastard if I said I wasn't guilty of it from time to time myself. But an uninformed notation flame is exactly the sort of thing that the opposition uses to tear us down in front of the rubes so the rubes won't become part of our side and stop being rubes.
