Burning people alive for not believing in God wouldn't convince us that God exists.
It would, however, convince us that monsters do.
So, we in Sweden ought to take the few who are practicing Christians, and nail them to crosses? If the majority is right, then that's what we have to do. That would make you stop believing right away, right?
You can't be forced to believe what you don't believe. You can only pretend to believe something that others force you to.
Of the (overly optimistic and poll skewed) 80% Christian claim, most Christians wouldn't be behind such shit. What with over half of Christians without denomination affiliation and doctrine how do you think you'd rally them?
And the 80% number is due exactly to threats like that, even unbelievers learn early to answer "yes" to "are you a Christian/do you believe in God?" to avoid lectures, sermons or outright persecution.
Again, it's a sign they know many don't buy the shit so their aim is to silence those.

You know that among the 80% of believers you claim are those who will point to other believers and say 'those wicked people follow SATAN!', right?
There are even god-botherers out there who will identify YOU as one of 'the wicked.'

Other way around: give everyone who identifies as a Christian a dosage of truth serum with the prior understanding that anyone who proves to be a non-believer will immediately be shot dead.
I'd say the percentage of self-identifing Christians would drop like a lead balloon.
