While it has its uses, science has played a huge role in the demise of “Western civilization” over the last 100 years. Now the science geeks, espousing much of what Nazism brought to the fore, can stand back and watch as the Earth is inherited by Creationists...

Scientists can never explain the origin of the universe, and the Big Bang is absurd per their own arguments; if matter is finite, the Tooth Fairy (can’t say “God”) triggered the creation of all matter...from an “explosion”...

Please, do some research. It really doesn't matter how silly you think something is, if the math works out it's a valid hypothesis.

While the correct scientific evolution was not taught, a manipulative social darwinist version was taught heavily to every child. While it is correct that that does not represent evolution correctly, it would either be lying to say that evolution was illegal to teach or unethically oppurtinistic.

"Nazis were creationists."
Simply not true. Official propaganda espoused social darwinism mixed with racial collectivism and a deistic view of of god.

Nazism saw religious organisations as rivals in their surge for total control of the population, but they also abused science as much as religion as justifications for their ideology. Claiming things that aren't true about an ideology, is not only unethical practice but also insulting to victims of these ideologies. We have enough of that on the fundie side, we claim to be skeptics and on the side of reason, logic and evidence - if we start lying about it to make a point, who will be left to speak truth?

Your complicated and nuanced view of history is wasted on fundies, they have no capacity to understand it. They are limited to "Evolutionists are Nazis". I make rebuttals to their nonsense equally easy to understand. Total factual accuracy is neccesarily sacrificed.

This sounds like what American creationists believe.

Also American creationists are social Darwinists.

Also American creationists are derived from the racist subculture. American racist fundies tend to be creationists.

So the claim that this creationist fundie is a Nazi is more accurate than anything the fundie said.

It depends on what they're trying to do.

If some new scientific discovery disproves one of their pet "theories" then you can bet that every creationist will decry science as inherently flawed, if not outright evil.

If a new scientific discovery appears to support one of their deeply held beliefs then science can do no wrong and always gives 100% accurate results. You can also expect them to point out that all early scientists were creationists and they'll probably try to claim Einstein as one of their own also. Newton, of course, will also be mentioned as one of the great creationist scientists in the long line that lead to whatever the current discovery was.

What's amusing is when the second scenario happens and all of the creationists jump on it only to have people who actually understand the discovery point out that it actually disproves one of their claims. Then suddenly those same creationists lauding science as infallible have to switch gears and deride it.

True. Hitler despised evolution and made it illegal to teach the REAL version of the theory, banning "The Origin of Species" in Germany and twisting everything with social darwinism and putting God on the label (accepting evolution would have meant that the supposed "Aryan" race was once a filthy animal, so God obviously created men [i.e. Aryans] apart from monkeys and the rest of the animal kingdom).

Edit: also, the Nazis did not think religious groups were rivals to them. If they saw it fit, they'd ally themselves with them, such as Protestant (mainly Lutheran) and Catholic organizations, which were very similar to the Nazis in ideology.
