Here's a quote from that same thread. I think the first paragraph is dead on, but the rest can be summed up as "so close and yet so far".
"That's just a matter of fact regarding the faith of Islam. It's in their holy book. If people think this is sensationalist... Christian, Jew, Muslim... read the Qu'ran. Know your enemy.
There is no more sure a way to appease the blood god than to die killing people for their faith. Jihad. Holy war.
Maybe. Allah is a cruel, fickle god and offers his faithful nothing certain for their blood. The 'muslims' who are not killing people are those who do not adhere to their faith.
They're throwing themselves at the mercy of their cruel, fickle, blood god hoping they catch him on a good day. Allah's not obliged to do anything for you.
You can be the most faithful devout muslim there is and if allah doesn't like the cut of your jib that day, you can go to hell. Literally.
The Qu'ran makes it's jinn (devils) seem more reliable and approachable in nature than it's god. They're also not adamant on demanding war and the blood of infidels and unbelievers.
Funny how that works. I'd imagine many muslims would have no qualms with turning to the occult given such a realization. And why shouldn't they if this alternative is 'god'?
If your options are maybe-hell and certain-hell, what's the point? Even the most faithful of muslims are not exempt from Allah's diva-god whims, so, why bother?"
