“There are things that are best just not talked about, much less openly celebrated.”
So, not a fan of Free Speech, then?
Not very patriotic.
“Queerness is one such thing.”
Why? Why can’t we talk about it?
“It is not normal and everyone knows it,”
Oh, look. You’re talking about it. So YOU get to talk about it, no one else?
And you’re wrong. It’s just as normal as anything else humans do.
“but political correctness forces us all to pretend it's fundamentally no different from normal sexuality. It is different,”
How? Adult humans want to caress the naked parts of adult humans in fairly recognizable ways. I don’t think you can justify it being different, just YOU being offended.
“and to deny that in official policy is to deny reality, which has its worst consequences in military settings.”
Let’s go back to that ‘reality,’ how is being gay that different from being straight?
“It encourages falsification and lying, which seriously undermine morale.”
No, the DADT, and the previous strictures against the sexuality, THOSE encouraged lying. Now they’re encouraged to be honest and upfront.
“Most seriously of all, it tells the normal soldier that what makes him uncomfortable doesn't matter.”
Have you BEEN to boot camp? Our opinions certainly did not matter. The Chief tells you to do something, you weren’t given an option based on how you felt about the matter.
If a woman, or a minority is posted over you, you still have to follow their orders no matter your feelings on the matter. This has been the military for a LONG time.
If your ‘most serious’ objection is total bullshit, you haven’t got much of an argument.
“IOW: HE doesn't matter. Queers comprise about 2% of the population, and they're more important than the 98%.”
Again, that’s not an issue for the military. If the top brass sends down word that women can be in combat, or blacks can be technical specialists, or gays can be corpsmen, your fee-fees don’t fucking matter a damn.
“Talk about favoritism, and it sets up a divisive dynamic."
No, it absolutely does not.
“Normal men are equipped biologically to feel revulsion toward queers.”
No, bubbles, that’s a learned response. And learn that it doesn’t matter or get out of the fucking military.
“Fighting against biology has you fighting against yourself, and that's the last thing you want or need in combat.”
You know, I was never exactly in combat, but i’ve been in real fires, real flooding, real loss of ship’s control, real sinkings, and the LAST thing I thought about was who the guy next to me wanted to shag in our next liberty port.
PRETTY sure it’s similar in combat.
“Some queers aren't a problem. They're the ones who lived with DADT. The problems will be those who want to push things. And they will.”
Like you’re trying to push things HERE, huh? SO you have a lot in common with gay activists…
