Shows that gay rights activists made a mistake thinking they only had to explicitly say "Gays are born that way, it's natural, not a choice!" and didn't have to add "AND they have ways of living out their desires that don't hurt anyone!" because *that* is *granted*! Noone could possibly miss it.
Prove to us that the notion of sin is actually grounded in reality and then we will talk.
And no, any reference to a so-called sacred text does not count, since my own sacred text tells to that it is A-OK to burn and pillage churches, for the glory of Odin and you do not see me doing that, because I actually understand that religious rules are mostly not acceptable in modern society.
Explain what's wrong with drugs and prostitutes.
I mean, both have their massive issues but neither is wrong as a concept. Ethical sex work and drugs that don't ruin your life are just fine, my dude.
Your point is moot.
Sexual desires between heterosexuals can, even in the Bible Belt, be channelled into a state-n-church-sanctioned marriage, and everybody's happy, so have a piece of cake. The couple is happy, the church is happy, and the society is happy, because they all know that sex is a natural and near-universal desire. But the same people who cheerfully went to their wedding want to forbid homosexuals from expressing their desires.
And then they show up with simplistic little cartoons that miss the point altogether, and think they're clever. Nope, not even close. Adam, you protest too much....
*Sigh* They'll always miss the point completely, won't they?
Fundie: "Homosexuality is sinful because it goes against gods natural laws"
Reasonable Christian: "But homosexuals are born this way, meaning it IS natural and part of gods plan."
Fundie: "No, god wants to test Homosexuals with their desires, they should just abstain from giving into them."
Reasonable Christian: "Does that mean you think god is deceitful by giving people these unchangeable characteristics which are automatically sinful? Because that's heresy, it implies that he doesn't care about free will at all."
Fundie: "Well... the same would go for killing, taking drugs etc. I always have these cravings yet I don't give into them."
Reasonable Christian: "First off, good to know, second, homosexual behaviour between consenting adults passes the categorical imperative test, meaning it isn't moraly or physically harmful at all, which can't be said about those other things. Wanting to kill someone or taking drugs are also not characteristics you are born with and can't change."
Fundie: "Well, but homosexuals aren't born this way..."
And so on and so on ad infinitum.
*Rolls spliff*
*tokes*
