By the way, I'm pretty sure that gay people have no problems committing to their partner. In fact, statistics show they're more likely to stay committed to their partner than heterosexuals are to stay committed to theirs.

Civil union, marriage, BFF Platinum Version. Whatever. Nobody gives a damn. It's not what you call it, it's what it conveys legally that people are trying to get sorted out. So long as whatever you call it is equal under the law to your precious word "marriage", nobody cares what it's called.
Aside from that, you can bet your ass that churches will marry them. Have you any idea what kind of money goes into a wedding?
