(on the resignation of an evolution-supporting Philosophy professor from a Christian college after the school affirmed its commitment to the biblical interpretation of the creation of Adam and Eve)
Good. He should resign.
Believers in magic have no business teaching anything in a Christian college.
Or any other college for that matter.
Stick to actual fact and follow what the science simply tells us and the Bible is corroborated time and again. "Thy Word is truth!"
Moses described the Big Bang of Creation in Genesis looooong before the greatest minds of the twentieth century ever believed the universe even HAD a beginning. And after all that time of doubting, science eventually confirmed the Biblical account.
As usual, our scientific discoveries just had to catch up with the Bible.

accidental truth, although not in the original context.
Notice how many complaints we see about Harry Potter or cartoon Magic on FSTDT? How ADULTS are writing about their REALLY REAL WITCHCRAFT threat?
This is because you've raised, indoctrinated your children to believe in magic. Calling it Gods work or Miraculous creation doesn't make it any less magic then conjuring a carriage from a pumpkin.
And your Bible HASN'T been proven or corroborated making it as valid as Cinderella or any other fable, especially the magic parts.
You're the believers in magic, silly-nilly! You're the ones adhering to a musty old book full of magic tales.
There are very, very few actual facts in your magic Word.
Funny that you always wait until science has discovered something, before you pick out verses in the Bible that, according to you, describe what the scientists have discovered.
"Believers in magic have no business teaching anything in a Christian college."
I agree. Shut the place down and ban all creationists from teaching.
Oh that's not what you meant?

Statements like that are why we should be legally permitted to hit you.
And Moses no more described the big bang than the manual for my PS3 describes open heart surgery. There's more scientific corroboration of the existence of Equestria than there is supporting your laughably feeble and uninspired fairy tales. Not that that's saying much; any amount is infinitely greater than zero.

Funny how nobody finds these things in the bible until atheistic science finds it first.
If TLT keeps going on like this he may join the "esteemed" ranks of the FSTDT favorites. This guy strikes me as the sort of person who just shouts every time the other guy tries to talk, and when the other guys gives up, he turns around and brags that he won the argument.
What are they trying to hide? I suggest that they should teach the controversy and have their science compared to other theories, so the students can make up their own minds.
"And after all that time of doubting, science eventually confirmed the Biblical account."
What rock have you been living under? The fact that science doesn't attest to Biblical literature is precisely why creationists create such a fuss.
Also, you'd be more likely to gain a full understanding of the arguments made by real scientists if you stop projecting your close mind on to them.
Hey Alencon, yeah the last dump is a prick and a bigot certainly, many Christians aren't, recently I went to a pride parade and a Christian church was along the route, they gave snacks and drinks to us marching and even hosted a concert out in front, a rock concert!
Right wing fundie Christianity though... that statement is apt.
I am both laughing at the unbelievable blindness of this commenter, and crying to think that he is not alone in his abysmal ignorance. I agree that the prof certainly should resign and go someplace better. But christianity REQUIRES a belief in magic. That sorry excuse for a school simply did not want any teacher that stuck to "actual fact".
Personally, I don't care if the person believes they're the reincarnation of a unicorn witch from an alternate dimension, as long as they don't shove it down people's throats and try to use it as proof of an alternate dimension (or the existence of unicorns), and as long as they know how to teach, I'm fine with them teaching.
Day 1: day/night effect created.
Day 4: Sun, required for day/night effect, created.
You lose.
Confused?
