My daughter was near inconsolable and kept saying, "I don't understand", "I don't understand". I did, all to readily. I explained t her about darkness, spritual blindness, evil, stuff she already knows. But she kept shaking her head on how so many people could be SO blind as to not see what the progressive/left/demos/etc. are up to. I told her that Massachusetts, Nevada, and CA are still dark states and will continue to cling to their darkness.

Here's a hint: Democrats aren't completely insane and/or know enough not to act as such every time someone points a news camera at them. It's also a reasonably non-conservative state.

I'm not sure you should be talking about how blind others are. Have you listened to the Republicans lately? Or those Tea Party clowns?

Clearly you don't understand either. It has nothing to do with any darkness and everything to do with democracy. This is what the people wanted to vote for end of story. This extreme animosity between red and blue is getting annoying and it's making it impossible to get shit done. And the attachment of religious significance to a political party (as you just did) is only making it worse. I'm not saying Dems and Reps should be agreeing with each other and singing Kumbaya, but ultimately both need to realize that they represent ALL people, not just the people that voted for them and the voters need to look beyond party labels and see if the candidate as an individual is the right person for the job and they need to realize that people hold different political opinions from them and that this doesn't make those people demons or idiots simply because they voted for someone that's a member of the opposite party that you voted for. Along with religious fundamentalism, America can do without political fundamentalism.

*- I'd give them a year at most, whereupon they'd be reduced to a state, a la "Lord of the Flies", in a civil war about 'who was fundier than thou' and/or dwindling resources. After all, not wanting to be part of this world means exactly that: complete isolation, with not so much as trade or imports from other parts of the 'evil' world.
