Dearie, other countries have had same-sex marriage for over ten years, and churches have not been closed for refusing to approve of gay marriage. Gay sex have nothing to do with the Supreme Court ruling; the ones getting married after it have been together for years, sometimes decades, and I bet they did not stay virgins until the wedding night.
Ireland is a pretty religious country, and it voted in favor of gay marriage earlier this year. Christians are holding the belief that everyone should have equal rights. Only fundie bigots think otherwise.
