Better do your homework. Making contraception available INCREASES the number of abortions done. You have to teach women to respect their own bodies and not to give them away free to men who just want to use women for pleasure. That's the only thing that works. Sex education just encourages irresponsible sexual activity as well. There is a REASON why Planned Parenthood provides contraception and sex education. This stuff is CALCULATED to INCREASE abortion clients, because that is where Planned Parenthood makes its money. It is simply NOT IN THE BEST INTERESTS of a woman to have sex with a man who has not committed himself to cherish her. I'm all for education on alternatives. Funniest thing: Planned Parenthood tends to SUE anybody who tries to provide this service. Even when they "provide" it, again, it's calculated to get more clients for abortion. And I'm all for access to adoption services. We have four adopted children in our family, so I am a firm believer, obviously. But you need to understand that free contraception DOES increase the number of abortions. That's why most Republicans don't favor it. It has nothing to do with providing something for free. As for "minding your own business", what would you do if you saw a person beating a child in public? Walk by? That's half the problem in our society today. When someone needs help, we don't bother.

The reason they said that first line, is because they are one of those who believe BC is a form of abortion, because it prevents fertilization. Or they're one of those who believe PP gives placebos so people can get pregnant, then get an abortion.

Contraception which prevents pregnancies from happening, somehow increases the termination of these pregnancies which aren't happening due to the contraception. Oh, your goal is to prevent sex?

Y'know, my uncle vowed to cherish my aunt. He had a funny idea of cherishing, though - unless spending the entire marriage cheating and pressuring your wife to have an unnecessary hysterectomy have been added to the definition since last I checked?
The only way that contraception increases abortions is if you use the rather...erm...interesting definition of abortion that some religious fundies do - anything that, in any way, shape or form prevents a baby developing as a result of sex is something that has caused an abortion, even if this does so by preventing conception taking place. By that rather expansive definition of 'abortion', then all contraceptive methods, of any kind, causes abortions.
Of course, to those who use the more common definition of abortion, as found in any dictionary, the facts, figures and statistics are very, very clear - places that have things like comprehensive sex education and freely available contraception have a markedly lower abortion rate than places that have things like 'abstinence only' sex ed and restricted or no access to contraception.
So much fail...
Contraception is there to prevent pregnancy in the first place. Pregnancy prevented? Abortion not going to happen.
And I recall abortion only being 3% of what Planned Parenthood does.
And good sex ed tells you what anatomy is involved in reproduction, the general risks and benefits of sex as well as how to navigate your sexuality. Abstinence only crap simply tells you that if you have sex before marriage that you are like a used toothbrush.
When Sweden started to give free condoms to teenagers, the rates of unwanted pregnancies, and thereby also abortions, plummeted.

Abortion is not a lucrative business. It's so non-profitable that many abortion clinics in the US have been forced to close. Also, only 3 percent of the PP business is abortion-related.
Again, straight out lies and the coming government is absolutely loaded with these Christian soldier making con-men. Planned Parenthood will probably be gone by March and laws introduced to ban any such future agencies formation. The Republicans appear to be the only party in the world that wants unplanned pregnancies, the Fundie side of their party knows full well pregnancies will increase with lack of sex education and available contraception.
While the flock may be stupid enough to believe these lies most the in power advocates know full well they're selling lies.
