If this isn't enough already, the ACLU is against the Boy Scouts because thier oath has the word God in it. The ACLU is also pro-death. Whether it be euthanasia or partial-birth abortion, the ACLU is for it. If it involves death, count on them to be for it. Oh, but unless your a convicted criminal. Then the ACLU is against it. The ACLU adamentally supports our enemy too. They defended the P.L.O back in 1985. They also defended Quadafi in the 80's. They also have refused funds from the United Way because the United Way required them to complete a counterterrorism compliance form.
To top this all off, the ACLU does this all with YOUR taxpayer money. Yes, the ACLU is trying to legalize child pornography, fund terrorism, support our enemy, promote a culture of death, and take Christianity out of this country, all on your dime.

um..no, not on taxpayers dollars because the ACLU is not a government organization. it's funded by it's members. The ACLU defends rights, it's just that most of the time fundies are the ones trying to violate others' rights. The ACLU also defends conservatives when their rights are violated. please see their defense of that bigot Rush Limbaugh when his medical records were illegally leaked ot the public.

If this isn't enough already, the ACLU is against the Boy Scouts because thier oath has the word God in it. The Boy Scouts get millions from the federal government and more millions in free access to government property. When universities do the same, they have limits -- they can't discriminate based on religion and they can't proselytize. Why should the Boy Scouts be immune?
No tentacle of the government should pressure certain religious beliefs. You've got a right to your own beliefs. Does it make it more clear knowing that the Boy Scouts is basically Mormon? ("Oh noes! Someone using the government to promote their religion -- and it's not mine!")
The ACLU is also pro-death. Whether it be euthanasia or partial-birth abortion, the ACLU is for it. Yeah. It makes me want to donate some cash to the ACLU. I like to have rights.
If it involves death, count on them to be for it. Oh, but unless your a convicted criminal. Then the ACLU is against it. There's something about killing people against their will, with no demonstrable benefit... Plus the extreme inequality of race and access to good defense found in death penalty cases... But who needs to be careful when the government is killing its own people?
The ACLU adamentally supports our enemy too. They defended the P.L.O back in 1985. The ACLU only defended their right to run an information office. We should ban books and pamphlets? Are ideas WMDs?
As far as Quadafi, I'm going to have to look that one up... Anyone know what that's about?
They also have refused funds from the United Way because the United Way required them to complete a counterterrorism compliance form. Which was an opposition to the Patriot Act issue. I oppose that act. Another reason to support the ACLU.
To top this all off, the ACLU does this all with YOUR taxpayer money. The only money they get from the government is damages rewarded when they win their cases (and almost all of it goes into lawyers fees). If you don't want your money going to the ACLU, make sure your government respects the rights of the people.

The ACLU isn't "against" the Boy Scouts or anyone else intrinsically. It fights FOR human rights and civil liberties.
Oh, what's the use. The sky in this guy's world is probably lime green, too.

Jared simply doesn't know what he's talking about. Everything he says here is a myth he heard somewhere (probably talk radio) or simply just made up, and I highly doubt he even did such basic research as visiting the ACLU website .
In short, Jared is a clueless 'tard.

THE SONG:
If you don't know what you're talking 'bout, shut up!
If you don't know what you're talking 'bout, shut up!
If you don't know what you're talking 'bout,
And you really want to shout it out,
If you don't know what you're talking 'bout, SHUT UP!

I'm an ex-Boy Scout (and, thanks to the wonders of bureaucracy, also an ex-Girl Scout), and I'm rather pissed off with our American "brothers".

Sources? Oh, right, your ass.
Sure, the ACLU has participated in some bullshit lawsuits, but damn near every group in a similar situation has.

Even the most reviled among us have rights. Defending those rights defends the rights of all of us.
The ACLU receives not taxpayer funds. Stop lying.
The ACLU is not trying to legalize child pornography.
Stop lying.
The ACLU does not promote a culture of death.
Stop lying.
The ACLU is not trying to take Xianity out of this country.
Stop lying.
Remember, that "Thou shalt not bear false witness" commandment means don't lie.

Actually, that's a typo. It should read "Thou shalt not bare false witness." As in "Don't expose it when people lie."

Good grief. The word 'American' in the name of an organization does not mean that it's a governmental entity or that it receives funding from the government.
Oh, and the Boy Scouts thing is weird. The Boy Scouts are subsidized by the government, unlike the ACLU. I remember when my little brother, who's a militant atheist, was a Cub Scout. In order to get his religion badge or whatever it was, my dad read some stories from a book of Bible stories for children with him and talked about how the church has done good things historically too. It was hysterical.

Excellent point.
Hey Jared, when you get done alienating the rest of the world, the ACLU is going to still be there for you, even though you have your facts about them wrong.
And please, We do NOT live in a christian nation, please deal with this as you are annoying the rest of us. It's "freedom of religion", NOT "freedom to be a christian or get out of my country".

It's actually "thou shalt not bear false witness" but they are using "bear" in the sense of "to sic a giant she-bear on..."

ACLU is for protecting the Constitutional rights of Americans. Is that so bad of them?
I doubt that they are against the Boy Scouts. It's voluntary to join the Boy Scouts, you don't HAVE to swear their oath, you can just stay out of the Scouts.
