[Indian cows produce methane]
Eat them, that will solve the problem-God commanded men to eat animals after the flood. I was listening to "specualtion" by Jon Courson on the New Age, Hinduism...those that push "not to eat meat", yet are the most demonic forms of false religions. Why did God command men to eat meat, is it possible that this repels demons? SPECULATION, but interesting none the less.

We don't HAVE to eat both meat any more than we HAVE to eat vegetables; we could theoretically survive on one or the other if conditions warranted. This is a direct result of the evolution of our species.
At least you admit that your god is pure speculation.
New Age, Hinduism... are the most demonic forms of false religions.
You hate them because in comparison, your religion is horrifyingly cruel and ignorant. At least muslims don't make you look so bad by comparison.

Is it possible that you are mentally ill? Maybe another question is appropriate - is it possible that you are NOT mentally ill?

"Methane is not a demon."
Perhaps not, but it definitely smells like something originating from a place that could easily pass for the Islamo-Christian Hell.
God commanded men to eat meat to repel demons... yes... makes perfect sense to me...
Incidentally, God created cows, methane, meat and demons, so er... what?
How many of each kind were in the Ark? Eating meat could easily have wiped out whole species in a very short time. But then who expects logic from those who take allegory for reality and believe that Jesus will come again, despite his promise to return, broken about 2000 years ago
"Why did God command men to eat meat, is it possible that this repels demons?"
Mark 5:11-13 has a "legion" of demons possessing a herd of pigs. Last I checked, pigs were made of meat.
By speculating, you're adding to the Bible, and we know what the Bible has to say about that. Have fun in hell, heretic.
Also, am I the only one who thinks that if fundies were right about intelligent design, then the Intelligent Designer would have had to be Rube Goldberg?
"Why did God command men to eat meat, is it possible that this repels demons? "
But Hinduism is the real religion, therefore the false commands of your false god should be disobeyed.
Found this on the same thread:
"I just finished watching that sermon last night. I often "speculated" that maybe the constant shedding of blood to give people nourishment to "live" is an abhorrent reminder to demons of what Jesus would/did do for us on the Cross . . . again, just speculation."
When speculation attacks.
Anyone with even the most rudimentary grasp of economics could explain why your plan is very likely to be naively unworkable.
They've got zillions of cows all farting away now, true - but start eating them, and you create a demand for beef, which will cause farmers with even a shred of prudence to maintain or even increase the cow population so as to be able to continuously supply that demand and secure an ongoing income - conceivably, they might lower it a bit if it's currently too high to match demand and thus causes a price slump due to overabundance, but given the intensive animal farming techniques employed to meet western demand, I frankly doubt that would be the case. To simply start eating cows is thus by no means guaranteed to reduce their population level.
Oh, but before that could happen, eating their cows would also piss Hindus the fuck off. If even having to handle rifle cartridges greased with animal fat (not even beef tallow, necessarily) was enough to spark a bloody armed uprising, just how angry are they going to get if you start telling them to eat animals they consider sacred?
"Hinduism...those that push "not to eat meat", yet are the most demonic forms of false religions. "
Care to explain why you hold this in higher contempt than religions that advocate ritualistic cannibalism or human sacrifice, or did you just pull this theory out of your ass?
If you are saying by this that you believe demons are real, and that you believe "Hinduism", etc. are religions that worship demons, then these are NOT false religions, but real religions that worship false gods (according to your logic). Gee you're dense!
"God commanded men to eat animals after the flood. "
Men (and women) were eating meat looooong before your mythological flood.
Long before your mythological Creation, for that matter.

Yes, let's create a meat industry in India. Because thanks to the meat industry here, we have completely eradicated cows from the face of America.
Also why the fuck do you give a shit about cows producing methane. That sounds like pagan New Age Earth worshiping human worshiping global warming liberal communist conspiracy talk. Go turn on all your lights you heathen traitor.

Well maybe not interesting. What's that other thing? Oh yeah, boring.

She didn't say that Hinduism was the most barbaric of the false religions, she said it was the most demonic of the false religions.
How does one decide just how demonic a given religion is? Apparently, it's by counting the number of arms on their deities.
Incidentally, Biblenuggetlady here actually has a scriptural basis for her prejudice:
"One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables."
Romans 14:2 (NIV translation)
I don't recall a verse of the Bible which commanded people to eat animals.
Eating cows in India isn't going to solve the methane production question. That's childish, simplistic thinking, as is so much Fundie cranial activity.
And yet we keep hearing about studies saying that red and processed meats are BAD FOR US...
@Doctor Whom -- I'd never thought about it that way. Makes a strange kind of sense, though.
@tracer:
"'One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.'
Romans 14:2 (NIV translation) "
But... what about all that crap in Leviticus, specifically saying what we can and cannot eat?
Surely, this isn't a case of the bible--*gasp*--contradicting itself ?
:-P

Well, if she equates all the deities belonging to "false religions" with demons, Hinduism, with its 330 millions of Devas could be seen as having the highest number of demons (and that's not even taking into account the actually demonic Asuras).
Of course, the flaw with such a reasoning would be that having the largest known number of "demons" doesn't necessarily mean other religions can't have an even higher demonic population. After all, if every Christian has his own shoulder devil , plus all the demonic staff in Hell torturing the damned, taking care of all the paperwork of deals with the devil, training for the final big fight and so on, Christianity should have Hinduism beat by quite a margin.
Hey Biblenuggetlady, here's a Bible nugget for ya outta the first chapter of Daniel:
11 Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, 12 "Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see." 14 So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.
15 At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. 16 So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead.
Oh, good golly gosh darn, we don't eat the meat because your silly old gray beard god commands it. Ha ha ha, who is he anyways, Farmer the John, I bet?
@tracer: To be fair, New Age people do steal a lot of Hindu concepts (often using them in very different ways, to the point that it seems that sometimes they're just doijng it to sound exotic and guru-like.)
[is it possible that this repels demons?]
Possibly, because we all know it isn't because of the high protein content.
The Bible says NOT to eat pork. It also says that you SHOULD eat locusts.
I wonder how closely Biblenuggetlady would follow Biblical dietary laws if she knew what they really were, instead of making things up?
okay, this post could have just been the first two words and the last sentence:
"Eat them. SPECULATION, but interesting nonetheless."
I would totally agree with that. Unofertunately there HAD to be that middle bit.
You would think an intelligent designer would make a better idea for repelling demons than eating the goddamn flesh of other creatures.
Isn't that typically a characteristic OF demons? Perhaps we actually are demons! SPECULATION, but interesting none the less.
We ARE eating them, in droves, that is the problem. The more we want to eat the meat, the more cows there have to be.
How can you interpret some rather peaceful, enlighten-yourself, live-in-harmony-with-the-Earth religions as "the most demonic forms of false religions"?
I have seen no demons, ever. Not when I ate almost no meat, not now when I eat more meat. My brothers and sisters-in-law have never seen any demons, and they are vegetarians.
New Age? Modern Hinduism is something like 6000 years old, at its most conservative estimates, and that's not even counting its predecessor ritualistic Vedic religions.
As a Hindu I don't even find it necessary to respond to the "oh they have demons!!111" bullshit because it's not going to mean shit to them.
Confused?
