When I was young my parents divorced. My brother and I lived with our mom and every other weekend was visitation with our dad. Sunday would come and my brother and I would spend lots of time looking out the window looking for him to show up...often he never did.
Today I was thinking about the rapture and I realized that I'm still that little boy. Only now I looking out the window, looking for Jesus to show up, but afraid that He's not coming.
Funny how the past impacts on the present. If any of you find yourselves in this position, I'm looking out the windows too.

Big difference. Your dad existed but was either too lazy or too busy to come see you.
On this one you are simply wasting your time and your life waiting for something that is simply not going to happen.
Very sad.
At least your father showed up sometimes, which is more than you're gonna get with Jesus. You see, you're going to be disappointed every day, so to avoid this I'd advise that you stop being a little boy and become a man. Oh, and keep away from the raptards at RR.
Your father exists and is a prick for not being in your life.
Jesus doesn't exist and your a prick for banking on him showing up to kill all the people you don't like.
Please fuck off and take a valium.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Religion provides a substitute parental authority figure for those people too mentally weak to grow the fuck up and accept adulthood.
So, what your saying is you never got over your daddy issues, and now that you're an adult you've reassigned the role of daddy onto n imaginary entity who is supposedly so much better than your real daddy, but of course, being imaginary, is only doomed to repeat your issues for you ad infinitum?
The major difference, here, is that eventually the left-behind little boy will say to hell with waiting and go play with his toys. You, on the other hand, don't seem to be even that smart/mature.

Amen, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation. (Matthew 23:36 NAB)
"Amen, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see that the kingdom of God has come in power." (Mark 9:1 NAB)
The rapture was supposed to happen 2,000 years ago and it never did.
That's genuinely sad; I feel bad for this guy. If only he could stop trying to substitute an absent deity for his absent father-figure, and work on his independence and self-esteem, he might feel better. Shame on those RR people for enabling his feelings of dependence.
That's actually kind of sad.
Poor guy just keeps getting abandoned by father figures, both natural and supernatural.
Oh crap, I knew I forgot something. No to go reunite with my son and give him that puppy I forgot that I got for him.
*opens closet door with dog bones falling out*
Oh yeah, dogs need water and food...
So which is worse: a deadbeat dad who actually existed/exists still, or an imaginary dad who is just as much of a no-show?
Yeah, I want to mock this one, but I can't. It's just sad. Most people would move on and do other things, and eventually realize it's a waste of time to wait for someone who's that much of a jackass.
Confused?
