How can you say the world would be better without religion? Granted many people die over religion, but if you truely ponder a world without religion what are you left with? People who kill and fight because they have no morals or soul because they have no direction from a greater power. This is why leaders like Bush are hated by many failing to see the BIG picture.

Anyway there is absolutely nothing to support the notion that getting rid of religion creates a better world. It would at the very least depend on the religion and what kind of value system replaces it. For example, replacing Christianity with communism in Russia produced far worse results. And those communist atheists had the exact same delusions that many contemporary atheists have, that they're right, they know everything, they're on the side of science and progress etc. I could give you quotes from Lenin and you wouldn't be able to distinguish them from any of the other rants posted by militant atheists online. You'll find that a lot of popular YT atheists like BionicDance or dprjones support moral relativism. That is not a philosophy that can sustain an advanced civilization either. (What then are you relying on? The inherent goodness of people? That's stupid and naive.)

Then you had attempts to create "Atheism+" which was also a complete disaster. It basically was atheism + SJWism.

Judging by track record alone, militant atheist online communities have been extremely disappointing. The disproportionate support for SJW causes, the contempt for free market values, contempt for the nuclear family and the general lack of direction doesn't help build a more successful society than Christianity did in the west.

There are exceptions like Stefan Molyneux or RockingMrE, but not enough. And they don't even argue for the eradication of religion, they just want a small secular government that largely leave people alone + cultural conservatism.

Saying Soviet Union was atheistic would be like saying the Dark Ages represented Christianity perfectly with its mortality rate, killing non Christians, torture, diseases and illiteracy. The Soviet Union was proof communism doesn't work (and wasn't even close to Marx) and proof that those in power will be corrupted.

What is atheism+? Atheism and being sure you believe there is no God?

Judging by track record alone, militant Christian communities have been a disaster coming to sites like FSTDT to troll and be terrorist apologists while pretending to condemn others. The disproportionate support for groups like Christian Identity and the Bundys and general lack for law do more to show how we failed as a society for allowing Christianity so much power and political power at that

Notice the mix up of several different ideologies here. Anyway, beheading is hardly linked to "religion in general". It's not commanded in all religions and ultimately it's just a convenient killing method used by more primitive cultures. (Back when they didn't have guns or lethal injection.) No reason to think an atheist in a pre-industrial era would act differently.

People flying planes into buildings - That may be true for Islam and to a lesser extent Shintoism (maybe, Japan has moved on and isn't what it was pre-1945) and it's only because of their militarism towards outsiders. Christianity doesn't have an offensive warfare doctrine. Neither does Jainism and many more.

The Dark Ages - LOL, didn't happen the way you describe it:

Crusades - The Crusades were a delayed response from Christians to Islamic imperialism and only lasted for a short while relative to 2000 years of Christian history. I'm not at all convinced that you would have acted significantly different. You probably wouldn't have cared about the holy land, but you would have still be concerned with Islam's expansionist ambitions. Survival motivates everyone.

Abortion clinic bombings - granted some Christians did this, this is by no means an epidemic among Christianity. You don't get this in Europe and even in the US it isn't widespread.

On the other extreme you have atheists who support partial birth abortion for healthy fetuses. Given how developed a fetus would be in the 8-9 month range complete with a brain and functioning nervous system - this is murder too. Period. It's not religion saying it, it's basic biology.

Some of this is Christian, some of this is right-wing extremism. Murder is not a Christian value though. These guys got it wrong.

Anyway the point was that getting rid of religion doesn't automatically lead to a better outcome. It wasn't supposed to imply that all atheists are communists. Although track record does show a certain tendency towards the left.

I don't think you really understand what Dark Age was and as for the mortality rate and diseases - news flash - pre-industry tends to have a lot of that.

Obviously you forgot the right winger who flew his plane into IRS building. And religion has justified those acts of violence. There was no mix up of ideology unless you think one side was justified but other wasn't. Taken religion as a wider term encompasses both Christianity and Islam as well as Hinduism and Buddhsim and even Pagan religions which too have quite a bit of violence in them. And Wikipedia is not the most reliable source out there. The Dark Ages were Christian rule over all. This might be too hard for you to understand. It is why the Inquisition flourished (well that and the King of Spain at the time.) And you should read your Bible. All of it. Murder is justified in it. It's no better than Qu'aran. Which frankly is pretty much Old Testament legalism. And Old Testament views on people who worship differently or not at all and women and others. Face it, religion is what held society back. Without it there would still be some violence but not nearly as much and the general population would be smarter. There are asshole atheists who give others shit. This doesn't mean atheism is a bad thing in and of itself. There are good religious people of different faiths. This doesn't mean religion is good in and of itself. Morality doesn't go with religion. In fact historically and currently it's almost the opposite with its archaiac views on women and others who are of different faith. With everything I posted, none were violent attacks done by atheists. The Khmer Rouge and Phol Pot were, similar to Soviet Union in that it's dictatorships which are the problem not atheism. Unless the Dark Ages, Middle East, African Countries now represent religion.

And proving it more and more. There is no doubt you lack intelligence for any real debate as you disprove your own points. You justify it when it's Christians. When Islam it's how awful Islam is. Remember guys, if you have low IQ and work at McDonalds there is an easy way to appear intellectual.

Just join the YT atheist "community". Then you can make money by spouting left-wing nonsense, defending Islam (despite claiming to be anti-religion) and repeatedly using the words "reason", "logic", "rationality" and "skepticism" without understanding what these words means. Of course if you're lazier you can just end the video with "LOGIC" (what you say does not necessarily require logical consistency).

Also be sure to call everyone who disagrees with you a "creationist", even if they're not.

Yell a lot.

You can also say in one video "religion is cancer, get rid of it" and then deny it in another with something along the lines of "I don't hate religion, I hate extremism". If someone thinks you're going too far, just direct them to the less extreme video.
