Actually, we do. I have studied Walter’s position on this topic and I know that he is not in favor of anyone going through transition. Quite the opposite, in fact.
He means that we need better information about the topic of regret. In fact he wants more discussion than that. We need to blow up the myth that “transition” is possible. As long as the “trans” lobby is allowed to control discussion, they will continue to spread lies and recruit new mentally ill victims.
There is no such thing as sex change.

What a liar the OP is. Every word of the OP is either opinion or flat-out bullshit.
If the "trans lobby" had all this power, some anti-sexual-minority lawmakers, and the thousands of anti-trans posters who shit all over public discourse each and every day, would be quiet (if even for five seconds). They are never silent, not even long enough to think about what they say or to process what they hear.
They are so ignorant in part because they Never. Shut. Up.
And my pointing that out would invariably cause some histrionic culture warrior with a martyr complex to claim I want to stifle free speech when that is not even remotely true: They have a right to continually spew the stupidest shit their misfiring brains can produce. It's not censorship to point out the obvious, such as that a good many of them are pig-ignorant and proud of it.
There is no trans cabal 'controlling the discussion.'
Well, for certain absolutist, mostly unscientific definitions of "sex", there's no such thing as a sex change in humans, yes.
Meanwhile, in the real world...
Who's Walter and why is his opinion worth noting?
The people who have gone through transition, and feel so much better, are in favor of people going through transition, if they want to do that.
The topic of regret? Why should they regret no longer being called the wrong pronoun and no longer being dead-named? Have you no imagination at all, "mom"? Picture being born in a male body, being called "him" and, say, Ben, your whole life, and then suddenly being in the right body, finally. What's to regret?
Lots of people have gone through transition, so it is definitely possible.
It's mostly the fundie asshole lobby that "control discussion".
Trans people have to scream loud and clear to get heard at all. The mentally ill are fundie assholes.
That's right, it's gender realignment.
“Actually, we do. I have studied Walter’s position on this topic and I know that he is not in favor of anyone going through transition. Quite the opposite, in fact.”
And i care, why?
The
The treatment for transgendered individuals used to be to pretty much brainwash the mind to match the body. About a hundred fucking years ago (at least in the US, we trailed behind others), they started shifting the body to match the brain.
The results have been so good the regret rate is below 1%. My wife has knee surgery next week and the regret rate for this procedure is about 30%. Having a child has a regret rate of between 5 and 16%.
And, of course, 50% of marriages end in divorce.
"We need to blow up the myth that “transition” is possible.”
That’s a lot of evidence to sweep under the rug, though.
Confused?
