Hello, I'm a conservative Christian, born in raised in Atlanta Georgia, I've been a follower of Jesus all my life. I thank god for where I am today and the food he puts on my table!

The point of this group is to preserve the defintion of marriage as the bible and millions of other societies defined since the beginning of creation. We do not hate gays, but we do not tolerate attacks on our religious freedom. America may be secular, but it was founded on the Christian values of our founding fathers and in no way in their words did they intend a gay agenda to affect our children. The efforts of this movement is nothing then a thinly veiled attempt by our overtly liberal Obama administration to infringe on our states rights; when the Supreme court struck down Prop 8, this decision made them believe that they have the power to strike down any law they want. Next thing you know, they'll take away our second amendment. All of this is the Obama administration's attempt to socialize America and spit in the faces of the founding fathers

Also, as for marriage, if we don't define it as between a man and a women, as millions of cultures of different religions have defined it for thousands of years, then whats next? What's after a man and a man? A women and a dog? A 50 year old man with YOUR 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER?

I don't know man, but think about it....

Marriage is a contract between consenting adults. Why do you have such trouble understanding that and keep trotting out the "what's next--a man and his lawnmower" argument? Your 5 year old daughter cannot sign any contract; she still won't be able to do so when she's 15. Furries have had to fight for years against the perception that they're in favor of bestiality, so perhaps the "a woman and a dog" question isn't theoretical, especially since I've seen furry art depicting just that very graphically.

I suspect there's as much variation in religious beliefs among furries as there is in the general population. There are quite probably even furry gay married couples. You just haven't met them yet.

The Supreme Court tests laws according to their compatability with the Constitution. No more, no less. The Supreme Court can't judge on any part of the Constitution. Really, how can the Constitition be unconstitutional? It's also interesting how worried you are about the 2nd Amendment. You didn't mention the first.

Btw, I couldn't help but notice the string of mandatory key words in the posting: conservative Christian, Jesus, defintion of marriage, creation, religious freedom, Christian values, founding fathers, gay agenda, liberal, Obama, states rights, second amendment, socialize America, between a man and a women, women and a dog. It's all there. You only forgot to add: "I'm not a racist".

I've often thought before that when fundies talk about religious freedom, they really mean "freedom for me and others who think like me to do whatever the heck we want in the name of our religion". This just makes that absolutely crystal clear. What he's calling "religious freedom" is having marriage laws that are based on HIS religion, and HIS interpretation of it.

Marriage laws apply to all citizens, including those of other religions, or of none, and even other Christians. What about THEIR religious freedom? Are conservative Christians the only ones that religious freedom should apply to? If so, "freedom" is the wrong word to be using.

Since someone has already put up the Biblical Marriage Chart, I don't have much more to add. Except that in the Bible, marriage was often between a man and several women, even 1000 for Solomon.
