I have the advantage of now as a christian, being able to review my thoughts as an atheist. I am more clear about reality. I no longer think it resides between my ears.

I bet he hasn't actually had real reasons to be atheist. I bet he was just an atheist to be a rebel. Any atheist that knows information about evolution, psychology, history, etc. will never become a theist again. This one is probably only in his teens and hasn't known this information yet.
Well, yeah, now that you are a Christian, *I* don't believe reality resides between your ears either. I dare say you have a very distant relationship with reality.
Due to the... ambiguous... nature of the English language and the, erm, skill, with which people handle it, I am not entirely sure if he was refering to reality when he said "it." It is a legitimate possibility he used the wrd "it" to refer an unamed object, probably his brain, expecting us to pick up on it.
I know it is the duty of the lemmings here to spout venom at anyone they think is a Christian. (Think like me or you're an idiot)But what ristricts you from logic after you have crassly made your "ass" comment? Reading your responses here, it is obvious that a necessary requirement of atheism is stupidity.
And it never did when you were an Atheist. You sure you know what the word means? You sure you don't have it confused with a matrixite or comatose dreamer?
You were never an Atheist, no matter how many times you indoctrinated Christards say it Atheists do not see themselves as Gods. We don't believe in the possible existence of such.
“I have the advantage of now as a christian, being able to review my thoughts as an atheist.”
Are you sure that’s an advantage?
I mean, your perspective is different. It’s going to color HOW you view your previous perspective.
It’s also a fact that it’ll lfilter how you REMEMBER your previous perspectives.
And humans are idiots, so you’re going to TEND to be self-serving to give your current POV the advanrage.
“I am more clear about reality.”
You NOW believe in invisible men, talking snakes, and knowledge being transferred in fruit. What are you using to measure how clearly you see reality?
“I no longer think it resides between my ears.”
Yeah, yeah, sure, sure.
A number of great replies here. This is like "I used to be an evolutionist who believed in random chance [...] [promote mythology instead]", which ironically includes the evidence that they never understood evolution. It's possible for someone not to be a believer and to convert to a religion. It's even possible for someone to be particularly mentally vulnerable at a certain point and to become a victim of opportunistic peachers and the exploitation of their cult. But it is unlikely for someone who can reason that there is no evidence for the existence of deities, to suddenly claim that they were fools and now know better. Especially when they claim that the fantasy they are embracing is reality. If that was true, why would most people not suddenly be shown plausible evidence and convert? Why would there be so many flavors of the fantasy? That humans universally seek comfort in delusions is not evidence that the delusions are real. This is also something that science can explain without appeal to the supernatural. The preacher's argument also suggests that some people are privileged to have been "shown the light", that perhaps something is wrong with the others who seek and don't find it. When in reality the most intellectually honest could become atheists and that it does not mean sinful, evil, the justification of sin, etc. Those apologetics are just other stories to entertain the fantasy and for "us and them" manipulative rhetoric.
Confused?
