“Does God Have a Sense of Humor?”
Man, Hovind better hope he does.
“Although rarely, if ever, is the sense of humor of God discussed or analyzed, there are many compelling reasons to conclude that God does have a sense of humor:”
Wouldn’t it be easier to find god, if he’s real, and ask him to tell his favorite Knock-Knock joke?
“logic: man has a sense of humor, and man was created in the image of God. Hence God has a sense of humor.”
Man has a vagina, too. Or at least half of us do. Does that mean God has a Vagina?
I’m near sighted, does logic say god is near-sighted?
“history: man's sense of humor improved with the discovery and expansion of Christianity, which indicates their strong correlation.”
Oh, good lord, no it did not!
HUMOR requires shifting your point of view. Moving outside of your rut to a new perspective. There’s tension in new ways of thinking and we’re defensive about that. Humor is a defense mechanism. Basically, we scare ourselves into laughing.
Christain Conservatives cannot handle that! CHRISTAIN humor is meant to reinforce one’s point of view. The world is causing tension, Christain comics try to convince their listeners that the world is NOT changing, they’re NOT out of touch, they things they hold dear ARE valuable. This relieves the ‘world is changing without me’ tension, and they laugh at not having to change.
No, humor does NOT correlate to the spread of Christainity. More to the spread of rebellion.
“politics: atheistic political figures are known for their lack of a sense of humor, such as Attila the Hun, which suggests that the opposite of God is a lack of sense of humor.”
Wow. That’s a lot to unpack. Where in the hell did you figure Attila is atheist, except maybe you just lump all non-Christains together?
