When Obama led the charge to strike down DADT, I said to my husband that this was a move toward changing the composition of the military from largely conservative to liberal (and loyal to him). As it stood, the military would not have been obedient to him should he want to utilize them for a nefarious purpose. I maintained that gays are so in-your-face about their sexual preferences, that it would drive away those who love the Lord. Soon after, we start seeing gay pics of military members here and there. Then we hear about a military-hosted "gay pride" event in (of all places) Kandahar, Afghanistan. In addition, I know of a man who was forcibly raped by a group of males and sodomized (Sodom and Gomorrah anyone?). Well, Obama got his change.
Unfortunately, they are not done with their change. Lately, Christians have come under attack in the military. A chaplain and Lt. Col. has been censored by the military and atheists are calling for him to be punished just because he used the phrase "no atheists in foxholes."
Folks, as a Christian and one who served in the Air Force under former President Reagan, I am appalled. I would have never believed that things could get this bad. The gays are being used as a tool in the belt of this administration to put Christians on notice. Once he purges the military, I have to wonder if he will go after churches. And he claims to be a Christian himself..? Thoughts..?

I retired from the USAF as a disabled veteran. I served overseas for 16 1/2 years consecutively. I've seen combat and I am an atheist. I have also served next to several gay service members prior to the repeal of DADT. You, Eleora, are a disgrace to the uniform.
I'm not sure how a Christian reconciles the message of Jesus with military service anyway. Ah, but True Christians (tm) never bother with anything Jesus had to say anyway. For them Jesus is to be worshiped, not obeyed.
"Thoughts..?"
I shouldn't think so.
Thoughts..?
Yeah. You're an idiot.
Women, in the army? Shouldn't they be at home crunching out babies?
The only thing the repeal of DADT did, as far as I know, was that now gay people can be open about themselves. They were there before too, they just hid parts of themselves from those around them.
If the military is not loyal to its president, isn't that an act of treason? I thought an overwhelming majority of the US public was Christian.
Forcibly raped? Is there any other kind of rape? In an all-male environment, like prison or, to some extent, the military, men are raped by other men. That doesn't make any of them homosexual. Rape is not about sex, but about power.
And why the hell not have a gay pride event In Afghanistan? It sucks ass to live there already, why not give the afghan community something to make them happy? Of course, that would violate the key fundie belief that everybody's life should suck ass.
Unless you were making predictions and wrote this before 2004, Eleora, you didn't serve under "former President Reagan." You served under President Reagan or, if you will, "the late President Reagan." Sorry, but it sticks in the craw.
I maintained that gays are so in-your-face about their sexual preferences, that it would drive away those who love the Lord.
So where are the people who said they wanted to enlist but didn't because they couldn't abide the thought of the army, navy, air force, marines and coastguard having "in-your-face" gays?
I know of a man who was forcibly raped by a group of males and sodomized
Crime reference number or GTFO.
BTW, Eleora, the composition of the military moved from those who swore allegiance to the United States and to protect and defend its Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic to...those who swore allegiance to the United States and to protect and defend its Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. Sounds like you weren't that clear on what you were doing in the military, Eleora.
Purging the military?
Stalin purged the military and the victims numbered in the thousands. Now, can you find us one high-ranking officer that has been imprisoned and deported because of his beliefs, after a bogus trial?
As usual, the word and the definition do not match...
Folks, as a Christian and one who served in the Air Force under former President Reagan, I am appalled.
Really? You mushy have been livid with Raygun then? Or have you forgotten IranContra affair . Raygun was just another criminal US president in a long row of other criminal US presidents.
In addition, I know of a man who was forcibly raped by a group of males and sodomized
... as opposed to 20,000+ sexual assaults a year on women by heterosexual men in the military.
@ProtestantCrusader
It's not Obamas Gestapo, it's Obama's Gaystapo/Gay Gestapo. They work in league with the Gay Mafia, but unlike the Gay Mafia they are against the Jew World Order (a little prejudice) but not the Atheist Mafia (not business rivals.)
you know it wouldn't be so bad if you guys weren't such ignorant morons.
wow the military is loyal to the commander in chief? wow! who would have fucking thunk it?!
everything else you is paranoid stupidity. gee you can link sodomy with the supposed source the word! how fucking brilliant for you, you must have been so proud!

"...gays are so in-your-face about their sexual preferences, that it would drive away those who love the Lord."
Naturally, homosexuality is far more powerful than a nonexistent sky fairy and its dribbling aficionados.
"...his was a move toward changing the composition of the military from largely conservative to liberal..."
- Don't worry, conservatives will still have their gun clubs, militias and armed enclaves. Surely they will stand as an even match for the American armed forces.
(Dang, couldn't even type that with a straight face)
"I maintained that gays are so in-your-face about their sexual preferences, that it would drive away those who love the Lord."
It's rumoured that there are a few gay men in our SAS, Eliar a. Considering the Spartans of yore, I'd say there's more to that 'rumour'. After all, anonymity is key to the SAS (my nephew who's in the army has ambitions to join them, thus he doesn't want to be photographed for security's sake). 'Gays are so in-your-face about their sexual preferences', you say? When was the last time you saw the face of a serving* member of the UK's special forces, Eliar a?
Even the US Navy SEALs respect our SAS.
Our Ministry of Defence is lauded the world over for it's Equal Opportunities policy: as long as you fit the basic health & education criteria, they'll take you. Regardless of Gender, Beliefs (or lack of such), or Lifestyle .
(Part II):
Gay men in our SAS. Rumour? You decide, Eliar a; 'I know of a man who was forcibly raped by a group of males and sodomized', you say? I'm sure quite a few military lawyers in your country would like a word with you. Libel and Slander doesn't just apply to civilian law, you know.
*- Explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes was thrown out of the SAS for being too rough ; and this man cut off his own fingers when they became near-gangrenous due to frostbite, that's how hard he is, ergo him being an officer in the SAS.
Andy McNab. If shown on TV (for programmes he does voice-overs/commentary on), his features are either obscured or shown in silhouette. Even his 'name' is a pseudonym. For someone wantiing his identity kept secret because he was in the SAS , I'm afraid your claim that 'gays are so in-your-face' is why your real screename is Eliar a, certainly when it comes to the SAS and those rumoured gay men. The MoD have never mentioned if they are mere 'rumours', and the government can slap a 'D-Notice' on the British press, to further maintain secrecy, and prevent divulging any details about such
You wanna see how conservative the military is? Just have Congress go ahead and shut down the government again. Troops who can't pay child care, car payments, food and rent, even if it just for one month, will remember in 2016.
Eleora, you're a liar.
Liar.
Liar.
Liar.
Confused?
