If you think leftists are bad at debates you should see right wingers call opponent commie, fag, unpatriotic, never address any points made, etc.
I am not against keeping things like violent people (the sad fact is a lot of those 'refugees' are now responsible for the spike in violence and rape in many European countries. Islam is not compatible with the secular West.) out of the country and dealing with illegal immigrants.. but let's not just focus on the brown ones and deal with them responsibly. If we got rid of every illegal right away, the prices for food alone will skyrocket. No American wants those jobs.. they're hard work!
The reality is we need a different system of labor. The US has always relied on cheap immigrant labor, from African slaves to the Chinese to the Irish to the Mexicans. That has kept our prices for everything from infrastructure, to cotton to foodstuffs *way* low.
And it's unsustainable at best. Our 'everything' needs to be refitted for a bloated global economy, and it's not. There's a good reason I've made my self debt free with the hopes of buying some of my own land. That way I can raise my own food and reduce my cost of living even more. Maybe even raise enough extra to sell to my neighbors when they can't afford it at the store anymore.
Because while everyone else is crying about the racism or non-racim of it, I'm watching our infrastructure and economy tip and erode because the problem is so much bigger than race.
I don't think he's so much racist as maybe a little ignorant about mexicans.Of course, I can't say that I'm really that against punishing illegal immigration on princible.Maybe we should change the immigration laws, 'cause letting "illegal immingrants" stay in our country means that their just resident aliens.

Actually, other than the fact that the economy of the southwest, and possible the northeast as well, might collapse if you could magically deport all illegal immigrants, my primary problem with Trump's idea of deporting illegal immigrants is it's too naive.
The fundamental problem with most conservatives is they think in binary terms, right and wrong, good and bad. Their solutions to complex problems invariably gloss over the complexities. This is most obvious in the question of abortion access but it's also pretty clear in their attitudes towards illegal immigrants, Muslims and public assistance.
I don't think Trump is really a racist. I just think, like most conservatives, he's guilty of binary thinking on just about every issue. That combined with his thin skin makes him incredibly dangerous.
