As for Palin she has a right to her beliefs. Marriage is defined as a union between a man and a woman ordained by God. It is unconsitutional for the United States government to allow gay marriage. For if they do they will force church officals to unite what they believe is wrong. This is overstepping church and state. As for abortion. I feel every woman has a right to her body. So if she fears rape, or insest or just don't want to have a baby take the time go down to the clinic and put yourself on birth control.

Only the state is "marrying" gays. Churches don't have to unless they WANT to.
It wasn't that long ago that non church unions were not considered marriages by christians, now suddenly gays want unions and suddently state unions are sacred marriages? Gee, what a radical turnabout.
Webster defines marriage as: (1): the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law (2): the state of being united to a person of the same sex in a relationship like that of a traditional marriage
I go with Webster over Fundy, and god isn't even in the definition
"So if she fears rape, or insest or just don't want to have a baby take the time go down to the clinic and put yourself on birth control."
Oh yeah, because THAT will prevent any harm in the first fucking place. Why, she need never fear being raped at all! Birth control, evidently, now also doubles as fucking 'rapist repellant' as well, right? Right? No, it doesn't? Yeah, so shut the fuck up then.
As for Palin she has a right to her beliefs.
<Yes, but she does not have the right to take ours away>

<or a man and several women>

<no, it is unconstitutional to establish a faith based definition of marrage.>

<...well, at least you belive in the pill...>
Church officials don't have to marry anyone they don't want to, but that's okay cause marriage is not a religious thing, it's a LAW thing. Churches are only there to serve as venues for the ceremony, and with so many nicer places to get married in the world, I imagine they won't be in that business for long either.
I wish I had an internet megaphone so I could reach each and every fundie all at once.
It makes no difference whether you get married by the state or in a church - in the end, you HAVE to obtain a state marriage license. The state does NOT recognize marriages performed in a church without licensure. Just because your minister talks to God and blesses your marriage, doesn't make it legal.
But, the state does NOT require churches to perform ANY kind of marriage, much less gay marriages. Performing marriage ceremonies is entirely within the purview of the church - the state doesn't give two rats' asses if your church won't marry ANY couple the church chooses not to recognize. That's because that couple can go to another church or to a secular government office and obtain the SAME MARRIAGE LICENSE that you get from your minister.
Recognition of gay marriage is a STATE, SECULAR ISSUE. The question is ONLY whether or not the government has a legitimate interest in denying gay couples the right to a marriage license and legal recognition of the union. The state DOES NOT CARE what your church does or what marriages your church performs.
I may be wrong but I didn't think the Constitution had anything to do with whether or not it's okay for gay people to get married.
Also, being on birth control doesn't prevent rape or incest. It can prevent unwanted pregnancies as a result of those things, but the way you've phrased it makes no sense.
You're an asshole. No woman should be forced out of fear of rape (unfortunately, pretty much inherent to our patriarchal culture) to surrender control of her body.
A woman owns her body. Not some fucking criminal, the WOMAN. Just as a man owns his. It's not her responsibility or obligation to live her life on the assumption of physical harm by some violent asshole.
#@$@! What the fuck!
They don't have to be church marriages, just state marriages, with all the benefits. Not everyone gets married in a church. The second part sort of made sense, except for that rape part, but I do agree people should use more contraception.
First of all, why would we want to marry in your vile church?
Second, do you know why gay marriage bans are voted on? Because when the laws are examined, it's determined that the way they are worded, it's unconstitutional to deny us gay folks the right to marry.
Since that burns you straight people up, you pass bans.
Next time, try to get something right, fuckward.
That's not the point, DML. Many hardline Christians like Palin want to ban birth control, too, so you are forced to breed. I suppose that wouldn't be okay with you, though. You don't want her to abort a rapist's filthy seed to assuage your self-righteousness, neither do you want the rapist to be caught out by DNA testing of a rape child. Asshole.
The church has no say on who gets married to who. If your church won't "bless" the marriage, I am pretty sure gay people will find another church.
Birth Control is not 100% and its not your decision to make.
Never heard of a civil marriage?, or that we must take birth control, just in case we are raped or fall in love with our brothers, WTF?
Because not everyone can take birth control or wants to fuck up their hormones, stupid. It's not Sarah Palin's decision to make, or yours, so BACK THE FUCK OFF.
Confused?
