to do so or to accept evolution is to mean that Genesis in its literal context is wrong. which is not the case, because it it was inccorect, it would say so itself. i've mentioned this before, we know that there were reports of darwin recanting his theory, and of other scientists doing the same. my question to you is, why hasnt God recanted Genesis???

*GASP* No, not that! Say it isn't so.
"which is not the case, because it it was inccorect, it would say so itself."
So, you expect it to give a narration of the creation of everything that exists and then have a footnote at the end that says, "Just kidding"? AngryNotice, you my friend, get nuttier every post you make.
"i've mentioned this before, we know that there were reports of darwin recanting his theory, and of other scientists doing the same."
True. In so far as there were reports made of it happening, not true in the sense that it actually happened. You fundies have a bad habit of making up stories. Given that your lives seem focused on a bunch of stories I guess that's not too surprising.
"my question to you is, why hasnt God recanted Genesis???"
Because he doesn't exist? I truly believe you are losing what little of your mind you have left AN.
If genesis is literally true, why does genesis 2 contradict some of the statements of genesis 1? I would suspect that a god could keep his stories straight for 5 minutes.
And scientists recant theories on daily basis (not to be taken literal), but don't go around claiming that theories proven to be correct until now are all false.
He did! Didn't you get that memo?
It was something along the lines of:
"Sucked in! ROFL! Seeing the dumbass look on your faces!"
Apparently he got tired of the joke after 4,000 years.

And yes, it looks like "Darwin's recantation being a lie" has be nicely covered.
<<< we know that there were reports of darwin recanting his theory >>>
1) The Lady Hope myth rears its ugly head again.
2) The strength of a scientific theory depends on the evidence, not the belief of anyone (including its originator). In other words, even if true, it wouldn't be strictly relevant.
<<< my question to you is, why hasnt God recanted Genesis??? >>>
Hard for a non-existent being to do anything.
"we know that there were reports of darwin recanting his theory."
Even the pinheaded twits at "AnswersInGenesis" admit that this isn't true. AN, please try to keep up with the class.
"why hasnt God recanted Genesis???"
OK now, boys and girls, let's say it together - "Because God doesn't exist." Very good, children.
Re: the whole thing with the eye, the thing is that the eye wasn't even fully-evolved at the start of the process, so the 'eyes made by intelligent design' argument falls through. What actually happens is that it starts off with light-sensing organs (skin, etc.), and moves on to more advanced light-sensing organs, and finally culminates in an eye. Easy.
"why hasnt God recanted Genesis???"
First, God didn't write Genesis . . . people did.
Second, the people who wrote Genesis have been dead for thousands of years, making it extraordinarily difficult for them to recant anything.
Third, "The Bible is true because The Bible says it's true" is about the weakest argument I've ever heard.
Finally . . . you're a moron.
Dear AngryNotice,
Genesis was written by a group of Bronze Age theologians, attempting to explain how the world was created. The errors come from the basic fact that they were making it all up as they went along. God had nothing to do with it. I hope this clears things up for you.
<< to do so or to accept evolution is to mean that Genesis in its literal context is wrong. which is not the case, because it it was inccorect, it would say so itself. >>

Boy, talk about being stuck in a loop. Someone really should try to explain to AngryNotice the problem of circular reasoning.

<<< I've read a lot of fiction, and none of those books give a disclaimer about it being a work of fiction >>>
I've actually seen quite a few that do (somewhere on the fine-print page - usually something along the lines of "This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents are the product of the author's imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblence to actual events, locales, or persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental." - in fact, that's word-for-word out of one of the books I have on hand).
That, of course, doesn't mean that all books without such a disclaimer are nonfiction (my copy of the Hitchhiker's Guide, for one, doesn't have one - but you don't see me worshipping the Great Green Arkelseizure).
Everyone in the world MUST give money to Maronan.
I haven't recanted it, and I haven't said that it wasn't true, therefore it must be. Pay up, AngryNotice.
“to do so or to accept evolution is to mean that Genesis in its literal context is wrong”
And many Christains have reason not to accept Genesis as literal history.
But that’s between the two of you.
If your only counter to the science is ‘my book of fairy tales says nah,’ you aren’t worth much effort to dismiss.
" which is not the case, because it it was inccorect, it would say so itself”
It’s a bronze age writing that’s not been updated in well over 2000 years. Who knows what the author wants to say right NOW?
“i've mentioned this before, we know that there were reports of darwin recanting his theory,”
Lies. There were LIES of Darwin recanting.
We know this because his family WAS there when he was on his deathbed, Lady Hope wasn’t.
Also, it wouldn’t matter if he did. The science has gone on without him.
“and of other scientists doing the same.”
Just not by producing actual science…
“my question to you is, why hasnt God recanted Genesis???”
He also hasn’t apologized for the injustice of The Fall, or the failure of Jesus to fulfill the prophecies of the messiah. Who cares?
Confused?
