Sikhs are Hindu.
I figured that out after 9-11. We have a Sikh at work and I was very rude to him that day.
I think people find the turban confusing.

The only reason "people" find the turban confusing, or lump Sikhs and Muslims into the same group is because "people" are too lazy or self-centered to make any effort to actually know them. You obviously never talked to the Sikh at work, or you would have known he wasn't Muslim.

You're partly right. Some people do. We call them children, or morons.
Sikhs are Sikhs, stupid.
What does a random person at your job have to do with 9-11? Was he a friend of one of the hijackers, or what?
Should I perhaps be rude to every Norwegian that I know, after 7-22?
@Pup
Christians, they're jewish, right?
Right. Jesus wasn't a Jew, ya know - he was Jewish .

He is the type of person the think there all the same.
On 9-11 the owner of a "Quicki--Mart" near my house was murdered for being "one of them".
He was a very nice Egyptian man.
Wow, you profiled an innocent person at your work and were a shit to him due to prejudice and being xenophobic, ignorant, and just plain stupid. Way to be patriotic.
I assume he would feel justified if he had been very rude to a random Muslim person. And wouldn't blame someone too much if they shot Muslims in their place of worship, because they are the "right" people to persecute.
Yes, Sikhs are Hindu just like Christians are Muslim.
We have a Sikh at work and I was very rude to him that day.
That's okay. You're a rapturite; people are probably used to you being an asshole by now.
Wow...to confuse a Sikh with a Hindu is a bigger mistake than confusing a Christian with a Jew. Sikhism has very little to do with Hinduism after all.
Also, let me quote from "The Sign of the Four" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: "If you were a lying Hindoo your blood would already be on the knife. But the Sikh knows the Englishman and the Englishman knows the Sikh."
You might find the turban confusing, but I'm guessing you just lump Sikhs, Hindus, and Muslims into the "evil brown people who worship false gods and are going to hell" category.
The funny part is that you can actually tell different religions from each other based on how the turbans are tied. Sunnis do it one way, Shiites another, Sikhs a third and Hindus yet another; not to mention the regional differences. It is amazing what you notice if you just take the time to look.
What about that 'love thy neighbour' thingy?
Sorry. Sikhs and Hindus are not the same thing. Back to school; do not pass Go, do not collect $200.
"I think people find the turban confusing."
Intelligent, well educated people do not get confused. We know the difference, even between Sikhs and Hindus (retard). We also know that the Muslim where we work had sweet-fuck-all to do with 9-11.
The problem is fuckwits like you.
Actually, he is right that Sikh's are Hindu. Hindu refers to the cultural identity of any tribal, or ethnic group originating from the Indian sub-continent who practice a Dharmic religion. Jains, and Sikhs all fall into that category, as do Buddhists from the region.
@Brain_In_A_Jar
I take it you'd see nothing wrong with treating a coworker like shit on that day if he *had* been a Muslim, then?
This is a Rapturite. They see nothing wrong with treating Muslims like shit on any day. Or Hindus, Sikhs, atheists, Jews, the wrong flavour of Christians...
I'm intreagued to know how a raptard is rude. Do they call you an acolyte of Lucifer?
But since this happened at work, I hope you didn't stop flipping your burgers to insult your co-worker.
...Wooooooooooow. Just wooooow. Still, props for not blanketing him as a muslim.
Small victories people. Take comfort in the small victories.
Confused?
