And I also think the earth will be spinning faster in the 2nd half of the Trib to cut the days short, but keep the number count as prophecied. That could potentially mess up these predicted blood moons if the orbit of the moon doesn't speed up the same rate too.

Biblical Prophecy(tm) can be messed up? BURN THE HERETIC
Seriously, though: Why do these fools still hope their savior is coming back? Didn't he specifically *say* (if you believe the Bible) that he'd be back within the lifetime of...I think it was his disciples?
@Tina: I don't know, but if I find out, I may have to rethink this whole 'lack of faith' thing. If lesbian sex isn't a reason to join a church, I don't know what is!
Non-fundie Christians think "cutting somebody's days short" means killing them before they die of old age.
This fundie thinks God will effect a miracle to cut hours from Earth's rotation so that days become shorter and presumably everyone ends up with permanent jet-lag. Idiom? Metaphor? What are they?
Yeah, yeah. It'll speed up, slow down, turn inside out, then God will come along and slam dunk the planet into Mary Magdalene's cleavage. This isn't about coming up with a reasonable explaination for anything, it's about coming up with any explaination, then clinging to it so your beliefs won't fall apart. If the first theory to pop into someone's head involved sentient marshmallows from Jupiter, that would becom canon. Anything to plug the gaps.
And on the topic of gap plugging, thanks to Tina I had to Google 'tribbing'. We really do learn something new every day!
@ Johannes9126
Massive amounts of cognitive dissonance and compartmentalization. Being a fundie doesn't necessarily mean you're stupid (although a lot of times it does), it can take some real mental work to rationalize away reality, yet still accept enough of it to function in real life.
If your world view is based on reality you're likely to not hold many contradictory beliefs, fundies have to constantly rationalize their own beliefs. It's kind of like how lying takes more work than telling the truth, these guys have to keep figuring out new lies to tell themselves to support their beliefs.
No evidence of what will make the Earth spin faster. Some say the blood Moon is a reference to a total lunar eclipse. How the length of day affects the eclipse cycle is beyond me. The only way to speed up the Moon's revolution is to bring it in closer. Bring it in within the Roche Limit, ant it will be pulled apart by tidal forces. You fail.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
