"Science is of use in explaining and predicting the natural world. Creationism is useless."
Science knows how to kill an unborn child. It takes Creationism to teach us that abortion is generally, if not categorically wrong.

Science doesn't "know" anything, but people who understand science know that clumps of cells and non-sentient fetuses are not children.
We also know that the Biblial story of creation has nothing whatsoever to do with abortion.
How does creationism teach that? The bible doesn't teach that, and God thinks the slaughter of children is just dandy.
All creationism teaches is "Goddidit".
It also takes Creationism for the Crusades, the Inquisition, witchburnings, Magdalene Laundries, September 11, Hephzibah House, Matthew Shepard's murder, ad nauseum.

And yet your God commanded his people to rip the unborn from their mothers wombs... please explain just how that isn't abortion?
Your God also gave directions for how to abort a child of an unfaithful woman... please explain why that is ok?
Your God isn't too keen on children because, according to your own mythology, he gets quite a buzz out of killing them, so I doubt if he would be too worried about a few cells that have not yet developed into babies.

So you agree that creationism is useless?
Since medical science brought about safe abortions, we should totally scrap science.
Creationism to teach us that abortion is generally, if not categorically wrong.
What about thst stuff in the bible about "Happy is he who dasheth the heads of the little ones upon the rocks" and that passage about ripping open pregnant women's bellies then?
A woman with a coat hanger knows how to kill a fetus. Science simply does it more humanely. But you assholes would LOVE to go back to the days of back alley abortions, wouldn't you? You'd love for raped 9 year olds to have to choose between risking her life aborting a fetus they never wanted and dying in labor. But hey, maybe she was asking for it, right?
"It takes Creationism to teach us that abortion is generally, if not categorically wrong."
You're right, we should go back to the days when god killed children for his sake. Just take the tenth biblical plague and Abraham for example, total proof we should start killing kids.</sarcasm>

Yea, except that abortion isn't categorically or generally wrong. So, creationism teaches you falsehoods. Seems about right.
It takes Creationism to teach us that abortion is generally, if not categorically wrong.
Creationism teaches that your invisible Sky Pixie magicked the world into existence over 6 days. I do not think the it teaches anything about abortion.
abortions were being done long before modern science got going. There are a number of plants that produce an abortifactant (is that really a word ?) Science offers tools to do things. The choice to do them is a moral one, which is the scope of philosophy.
It takes religion to teach infanticide.
The Bible has nothing against abortions. They knew that the chance for a fetus to become a productive member of society was fairly small, so they focused on the one who actually were a productive member of society; the woman.
Science also knows how to save a prematurely born child.
Abortion is never anything more than the lesser of two evils. Nobody promotes abortions, the only thing we are saying is that it needs to be available, when the fetus is non-viable, the life of the woman is threatened, or when the woman is not able to provide a life for the child-to-be.
The problem with fundies is that they want a one-stop metaphysical shop to answer all their questions and assume everyone else wants the same. Therefore, they erroneously assume that science is a morality system and conflate creationism with Christianity, which every level-headed leader of that religion has said is bullshit.
Oh dear. Getting other people's ideas (ie the TOK) wrong is one thing. Getting your own ideas wrong?
Creationism doesn't refer to any part of the bible you want it to. Hell, it doesn't even have to refer the bible. Creationism deals with any creation myth . IE specifically dealing with the creation of the Earth and life.
Also, incidentally, find me the passage in the bible that denounces abortion, or specifically states that life begins at conception.
"Science knows how to kill an unborn child.
Yes, technically science does. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. The only difference though is that science doesn't provide a way to justify it morally, and we all know that you and your precious Bible apologetics provide plenty of ways, including but not limited to calling the parents apostates, asserting that the children killed were merely taken to heaven, and asserting that God is just no matter what he does, thereby destroying the language and the word 'justice'.
Science knows it isn't a "child" until it can draw breath on it's own unsupported by the mother, until then it is a fetus and, effectively, a parasite.
Creationism is for morons.
“Science knows how to kill an unborn child.”
Numbers 5:11 and on. The Bible teaches us how to use an abortion to test for a faithful wife.
“It takes Creationism to teach us that abortion is generally, if not categorically wrong.”
That’s not creationism. Where in an Intelligent Design textbook do they harp about abortion?
Confused?
