WHOA.
Oh, Jesus. Yahoo Answers... that is seriously where all the idiots go. Even stupider than the ten thousand people that ask "Am I pregnant?" every day.
Ugh... evolution is such a long, drawn out process. This person doesn't get anything, not even the slightest concept. The process takes THOUSANDS of years, with stronger, dominant, more survival-prone genetic trends living on and the weaker ones dying out or being left behind. New species come about after an incredibly long process of mutations in the womb, adaptations to the environment and the breeding of the stronger of the species.
What's with their obsession with monkeys? Our most ape-like ancestors are far, far behind the chronological species that resulted from them. The humanoid remains we find of our ancestors are in fact closer to human beings than apes, so the last species we probably evolved from was more human than monkey.
There was no fucking chimp that gave birth to a human infant. The process requires knowledge and a concept of just how long and involved the process of evolution is, and at least some acknowledgement of the fact that our planet is really, really fucking old. That the process took course over millions of years, with tiny genetic quirks and changes occuring over long periods of time.
I mean, shit, we are evolving even today. Our bodies change and adapt to the environment. If you examine patterns of which genes become dominant in certain cultures and societies, you'll notice that race doesn't exist. If you did an arbitrary comparison of the genetics of two white people versus a white and black person, it would be indistinguishable who is of what race. Our genetics are incredibly alike.
There is more difference between the genetics of two fruit flies than any two human beings, regardless of appearance. What we look like is just our species own adaptation to our environment. People who's ancestors originated from hotter climates are darker. Sandier environments provide for hooded eyelids. People that live further away from the equator have lighter skin because we are less likely to suffer intense damage from the sun and we need the opportunity to absorb Vitamin D. The reason people in the Mediterranean, blacks and some areas of India are more predisposed to Sickle Cell Anemia aren't racially defined, but rather a response to their environment - the sickle cell virus is linked to a natural defense mechanism against malaria, which was widespread in that region. It's sometimes thought of as a race disease, a "black" disease, but it isn't.
I probably can't explain it as well as a geneticist can, but from what I've read, race doesn't even exist, we are all just a composite of our ancestor's unique adaptations and the genes that became dominant over time to make us most fit for the region we live in and reside. We are such a global society now that people travel all over the world, and live wherever they want without the barriers our ancestors probably had; if we can survive through our own wasteful natures, very apparent physical differences between people (which we call race) will be eroded since the reasons behind those appearances will be gone.
Urgh I hate being intelligent sometimes, because the blissful ignorance of idiots like this guy must be like a comforting hug, a way to deal with concepts that are probably too advanced for such an idiot to embrace.
