How comes AIDS is so wide spread in Africa where the Catholic Church came in and told them not to use condoms?
It's just common sense that condoms would prevent AIDS. The virus can't get through the latex. The only condoms I can think of that would get you AIDS are usually handed outside a Catholic church. How ironic.
Preventing AIDS by not wearing a condom is like preventing a car accident by driving the wrong way down a busy highway while blindfolded and with rabid wolverines in your pants.
Or how about: is like preventing a plane crash by stabbing the pilots and then dry humping the control stick.
Or: preventing bush fires by spraying kerosene on the trees and then flicking lit matches at them.

I don't know...exposure to AIDs infected blood spills, using hypodermic needles that an HIV positive person used, spouse effected with AIDs, born to an AIDs infected mother...

But not all people DO abide by that teaching and I'm betting that you wouldn't either if someone would actually have sex with you.

Because people can't abide by that teaching, duh! Some people can, and for them I have a lot of respect, but most of them can't.
Because people have sex outside of marriage. The goddamn preachers who slandered homosexuals were having sex outside of marriage with men... I would rather you be safe than be sorry for a preventable disease.
Oh and HIV spreads quite easily through blood transfusions and needle transfer. Infact a fair chunk of it does.

Marriage is not a vaccine to AIDS. Simple. In Africa, many monogamous, married and sexually healthy people CATCH AIDS. In fact, in Europe, monogamous and married junkies have transmitted it to their couples and children. The virus just infects to survive, regardless of the morality of the infected person(conversely, they never infect monogamous Lesbians). Marriage is just a contract and a life style that, in principle, implies fidelity and monogamy. But the same sex you have within marriage, you've got outside and AIDS is transmitted through non-sexual means too, much more than any other STD.
