I never made a diagnosis. I simply looked at the photograph and formed my own judgment as to whether Terri (Schiavo) was or was not sentient. Forgive me for thinking for myself.

Oh yeah, Terri Shaivo was SOOOO awake and aware of what what going on around her, why any day, she was bound to jump out of bed and say that it was all a big gag. Why I even have an animation of her in her peak period of activity:image

There's thinking for yourself, and then there's thinking you can even HAVE a valid opinion based on no personal knowledge of the situation whatsoever. Looking at a still photo of a person wouldn't give even the best physician in the world much of an insight into that person's sentience or lack thereof; it certainly is useless to think that YOU can base such judgments on such flimsy "evidence"!

When my father died, he was kneeling next to his bed praying. He looked completely alive and sentient with eyes open. My brother looked in to check on him three times before he realized he hadn't changed positions.
Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion. Of course, Everyone else is entitled to point out when that opinion is formed on grossly inadequate evidence by a grossly inadequately educated person.

You can only imagine my shock when I found this web site. I found the link while I was perusing my site statistics. That anybody could go on and on about how stupid they think I am all the while erroneously categorizing me as a Christian fundamentalist says a lot for the mentality of those who wish to drag me through the mud. I’m an atheist, you stupid jerks! I stand by what I said about the Schiavo case including my assessing photographic evidence to form a judgment regarding her sentience. Terri was alive and was worth more than all you dopes put together. If you people are so ignorant as to not know the value of photographic evidence, then I say go back to school. The sixth grade sounds about right to me.

So, even with the post-autopsy neurological data which is available, you are still going with the conclusion you adopted from a still photo? Jagella, you did not think when you formed your opinion: you just went with an emotional impulse. You are not thinking now: you are just being stubborn. This isn't about Terri Schiavo, this is about you and your profound arrogance.
