Vile homosexuals have permeated the Catholic Church and will never willingly or gracefully release their perverted grip. It is their goal to change church teaching and doctrine to be consistent with hedonistic practices that are now common in western societies.
The Protestants ought to be amused. That priest burning the gay flag is akin to Luthier posting his 95 objections. Cupich and Pope “who am I to judge Francis will do nothing to purge the cancerous homosexuals from the Church.

It's had homosexuals right from the start. Indeed, the homosexuals were what kept it going for so long. The church slagged off homosexuality and in return got a steady stream of young lads seeking a celibate lifestyle.
Of course now that homosexuality is considered socially acceptable there's a worldwide shortage of priests. (And no surprise that so many new priests are coming from Africa, where homosexuality is rather less accepted.)
Hey, they'll always have paedophiles once the gays finally run out.
I'm an atheist & I'm amused. I like watching the destruction of any organization I dislike.
Gay folk have been present in the RCC since it was first dreamed up; without all the gay guys to serve as self loathing priests there would be no catholicism.

LET ME COUNT THE WAYS....
* Noncery is and homosexuality are two different things.
* Even Pope "Mr. Who-Am-I-To-Judge" Francis think homosexuality is sinful. His point was that there's bigger things to obsess over, like charity, social justice and not being jerks to each other. However; He still sticks to the hairbrained teaching that being gay is bad (but has a gentler, 'love the dinner, hate the sin' approach).
* The Roman Catholic Church are still the uptight, super-conservative bunch of stuffy-pantses you prefer....they just tend to have a moderate streak in places (they're fine with dancing, drinking, pop-culture, festivals, have an intellectual streak and thing for arts and humanities and are fine with real science and Evolution).
* Also; They have a shortage of priests, a weird aversion towards admitting they are wrong and have the crazy delusion that a nonce can just turn the nonce-switch in their heads off (thus being too forgiving).
* The answer to the priest-shortages would involve allowing women and making celibacy optional....but the buffoons in the Vatican insist on having their dumb "Celibate Boy's Club". Many in the Vatican are about money and power more than faith and Jesus and keeping it a "Celibate Boy's Club" consolidates that power.
* A denomination that insists on mandatory celibacy for it's clergy is rife for attracting nonces who don't want to be detected, nonces or gays who want a reason to suppress their sexuality (but fail anyway) or sexual-frustrated guys who lose their minds and mess with the first person they see....little Billy O'Reilly the Altar Boy.
* Girls get abused, too. You hear about boys more since they're Altar Servers the most. It's not about being gay, it's about being weirdly attracted to kids. Their sex has zilch to do with it.
NO, it's not the homosexuals who are vile, it's those who prey on young children. Which is, of course, a VERY different thing.
And yes, the main problem with Catholic clergy is CELIBACY - just as much today as it was in the time of the Borgias, and before them. That, and the confidentiality of the confessional, are things mentioned in our Royal Commission on this issue. So take your poofter bashing elsewhere.
Nope, vile pedophiles have permeated the Catholic Church. Or rather, the Catholic Church has prohibited its priests from having marriages/sexual relationships with other adults, and the priests, who don't have enough self-control, molest the altar-boys they have "easy access" to. The gender of the victims is of little or no importance in these cases, usually; they just take what's available...
The leaders in the Catholic Church then made it worse, by not throwing the pedos out, but moving them to new parishes, new victims.
The Protestant church has similar problems too, but not on an equally large scale. Quite a few protestant priests have been found diddling their daughters. Again, it's availability that matters most, not the gender of the victim.
Well maybe if the church would stop living in the 12th century and allow priests to get married, there would be a lot more heterosexual priests.
I mean, does anyone think that it's extremely stupid to take marriage counseling from someone who's never been married?
Not to mention that they could end their priest shortage by allowing women to become priests as well, but that will never happen in my lifetime.
@Token Atheist
Dangit, I should have noticed that!
Of course, he was a Martin luthier, after all...
One thing worth noting is that priests weren’t always required to be celibate. That only came about when the early Vatican, by I think the 800s, decided it wanted its priests’ lands, and needed a way to keep them from leaving those lands to their children.
Solution: forbid them from having children.
Confused?
